F.A. to have Wayne Rooney Testimonial Match

Probably, but I think the key is that its against the USA, so its a marketing stunt to get more of the US to watch it.
I know a bunch of pilots going there on their LHR layovers, so that marketing is working. Oh, and most of them know Wembley because they’ve seen it on the NFL!

An absolute joke. If he wants to come out of retirement, then fair enough, but let him be picked on merit. Why would we waste one of the few times a year that Southgate gets to spend with the squad honouring a player that went to three World Cups and scored a grand total of 1 goal?

So let’s get this right? The moral compass Wayne Rooney is getting another cap, the guy who drink drives, constantly cheats on his Mrs and hasn’t turned up for a major international tournament since Euro 2004?

If Rooney is getting another cap shouldn’t Frank Lampard or Gerrard be asked as well? If ever you needed reminding of where the Fas noses are firmly planted up which clubs arses this is it.

Exactly. And as one of the journalists on Sunday Supplement pointed out yesterday, the reason Rooney didn't get a proper stage-managed farewell in the first place was because of his own behaviour. And that's disregarding the fact that no England player has previously had such a "farewell" before anyway. It's one of the most ridiculous ideas the FA has ever come up with, and that really is saying something!

Gareth Southgate is trying to build a young exciting England team and he's been told to play a thirty something has been? If he's got any bollocks he'll tell the F.A. he wants nothing to do with the match.
It's like being a works foreman and the manager telling you to find a job for his useless idiot son.

Watch Walker,Stones and Sterling get a full 90 minutes in what’s sounds like another version of Soccer aid.

It's not just Southgate either, it's the players as well. They're currently in the middle of a Premier League season and now the FA are expecting them to play in a glorified testimonial for a player who achieved the square root of fuck all in his time as an England player, openly treated the fans with contempt, and took the piss towards the end by getting plastered while on international duty. They should be telling the FA to fuck off too. The whole thing is a sham.
