It is more than faintly amusing that the same people who use terms like 'brown nosing' to describe people who have a positive view of the monarchy are the same people who if they met our owner would forget their inherent disdain for hereditary privilege and would be scrabbling for the best means of accessing his back passage.

I am still awaiting a response from my exact post a few pages back about HRH Sheikh Mansour!! The ironic posts of some people berating our royal family as leeches etc yet our own Sheikh Mansour is a royal!!

I see him more as a businessman, as he is so rich due to business dealings. If uncrowned him and his family would still be very wealthy off their own backs, would ours?
You should go and study what the royal family do for this country.. Charity work, commerce, under privileged projects, foreign trade, tourism to name just a few. Prince Charles put up £20m on a project to restore a very poor area and bring work to the region. Get off the band wagon

What utter drivel you are posting. How do you think he can afford to be the businessman that he is? It is because he was born into the royal family of Abu Dhabi and has access to a sovereign wealth fund beyond anyones' imagination. He is exactly the same as the queen yet the only difference is the queen hasn't bought a football club.
As a student I thought you would understand the word "Sovereign".....Jeez..what exactly are you studying?

Are you kidding me? They are wealthy as they sit on 10% of the worlds oil. That is why they are rich.

What enabled him to undertake those business dealings in the first place? His inhereted wealth, that's what.

well said that man.The princes trust has enabled many under privelaged people to succeed in something that they would never had had a chance in.

Re: F*** the Jubliee

Just to show I'm not being a one-sided ranter here I'm more than willing to admit that the Prince's Trust is a fabulous organisation and huge credit is deserving to all responsible.

Doesn't warrant a fucking four-day holiday, bunting and millions spent on it though does it. Are we doing likewise next week for Shelter?

I support the uprisings of the Arab Spring wherever take place.
That's a bit of a sweeping statement. So you would welcome the overthrow of the royal family in Abu Dhabi?
Ithought i said it quite clearly.`. Wherever they take place`.
You did. I'll take that to be an equivocal yes.

4 day holiday ? It's 1 extra day, tomorrow is a bank holiday anyway ! And I wonder how many millions have been pumped into the economy on the back of it. Tourism, parties, 1 million people on the streets of London

no-but maybe for a champions league success!:-)

Seriously though,I can accept people not liking the Monarchy..that is fine but to say they do nothing or give anything back is clearly wrong

I stand corrected. A four-day celebration.
