He will stay for the Euro's.

End of the day, who replaces him?

I cannot see the FA going foreign again and why should they in my opinion. The national team should be an offering of the best your country can produce.

Best we have at the moment is Potter, but it would be career suicide for him to take the England job right now when his career is has just taken off. Same with Howe.

No not at all. Phil Neville had no experience of the women's game and so was limited to being only a "motivational coach" not a manager with a decent grasp of tactics and understanding of the game.

There are certain aspects of the men's game that don't feature in the women's game. She may well be capable of making the transition but with no experience of managing in the men's game, there is nothing to evidence that she would.
I WAS FUCKING JOKING

I think Potter will be looking for a new job quite soon, it’s the Chelsea way

You have to ask the question which top side in the premier league would appoint him? The answer is none yet he's managing the national side. His team's play like a second rate manager's team's play against better teams. Set up not to concede and relying on set pieces and a hopeful break. They play with fear and inhibition. The man is a serial loser and has been since his penalty miss against Germany. He might look good in a suit/waistcoat and say all the right things at press conferences but he's bland and boring and doesn't inspire confidence. I can imagine the players from top clubs sitting in the dressing room listening to him drone on and think, "What the fuck? Who has he managed, what has he won?" Whether he stays or goes depends on who's available out there I guess. So long as he's the England manager you're always going to get Middlesbrough on the football field rather than Man City.

2 more yrs of Southgate with a smooth handover to the man who has already got the best out of 25% of the squad, arise Sir Pep.
I'd much rather he stayed at City.

Absolutely spot on. For me, his" Honours List" on Transfermarkt sums it up - a totally blank page except for the mention of a Euro SF place.

I honestly feel Pep gets English football, after many games he can't help but talk to, coach the likes of Maddison etc, imagine Bellingham et al progressing with him in a job where he can leave another legacy as he will at City.

2010 Spain world champion with lots of players trained by Pep Guardiola. 2014 Germany world champion with lots of players trained by Pep Guardiola. Both teams took full advantage. 2022 England not world champion with little to no idea about how to take advantage of lots of players trained by Pep Guardiola. Coincidence? I think not. Southgate represents the good (bad) old way of doing things, and off course it works exactly as well as the last 56 years.
City are 5 points behind Arsenal with none of our players excelling except the one at the club the shortest length of time.

Coincidence?

The FA will probably be more than happy with what he’s done. His remit is get England to a tournament and then out of the group stages. It all puts money in their coffers every two years when the public starts getting silly that England could win a the World Cup or Euros. They got stung paying big money for Capello and Sven and didn’t produce any more results than what Southgate has. If Southgate had failed in the group stages maybe they would have got rid.
