If its friday, what time is ko?

I thought the fixtures are only on Sat or Sun? That's what ITV had on their screens from what I saw.

What gets me is that it wouldn't surprise me to see us play on the Sunday, the TV companies in this country could not care less about helping English teams out when they have to play in Europe, unlike other countries in Europe.

Glad to see your still your usual happy optimistic self Sam ;-)

Liverpool...boxing day 17.30hr
Palace...28th...3pm.....
How many hours between games??not a fucking lot
The weekend encompaces the friday night ..it could easily be picked for this slot as arse v cov was therefore giving us max recovery time for barca...however i have a shitty feeling that it will be sat tea time unless itv decide we are the bigger pull apong with chelsea..

In December we played 9 games - 5 away incl Bayern - Won 8, drawn 1
In January will play 9 games - 5 away - so far won 7, drawn 1 - Spuds not yet decided
In February we will have 6 games (max 7 if have an FA cup replay) - 5 at home 1 away

There are less games, more at home so game time shouldn't come into it. These players should be able to compete at the highest level continually for 3 games over a 6/7 day period - it is only when there is no let up that the mental and physical tiredness comes into play. We managed it in Dec & Jan and it will only be injuries that will become a problem to success, though this will be the same for the others.
We'll have players coming back from injury and rest whilst the odds say that others will pick up their fair share over the next few weeks - I think and hope!

Our priorities :
Prem
Champions league
Carling Cup
FA Cup

It will have to be a 'reserve ' side against Chelsea given this game is sandwiched between two more important games played only a few days before and after. Chelsea will be able to field their strongest side as they have no game in the week following the cup tie. We have to remain focused on our main targets and not spread ourselves too thinly trying to achieve the nigh on impossible quadruple and end up winning nothing.
would you play a reserve side in the cup final to keep the side fresh for the `big ` game v Barcelona ? We are in the final ffs , one game from a trophy. If anything I`d hope for a full strength side v Chelsea & the Prem games then rest a few for Barcelona. Like you said don't spread ourselves too thinly & end up with nothing only I believe the Champions league is bottom of the list.

Stay in every trophy as long as possible. Getting knocked out of a cup has huge knock on effect on every other competition. Would much rather play Barca on the back of beating Chelsea than losing to them.

I dont care if we don't win the FA Cup - just knock Chelski out and win the PL so we can wipe that silly smug look off Mourinho's face - if ever there was more obnoxious man than this crowd surfing pratt in football I've not seen him. No wonder the Italian & Spanish press hounded him out of their respective countries.

Really want his Chelsea plans to go pear-shaped if he gets sacked from this job his options are becoming limited, people around the world are beginning to realise what a complete and utter arrogant, disrespectful arse he is!!!!!
Shown your colours there. But have you never seen the GPC?

GPC ???

........and we will have 2 bites at the cherry with Barca - don't write off our away form there - I'm sure we can do a Chelski boring for 2 games and sneak a goal.

Haha, this fixture has got me a bit anxious though in regards to how well we will peform against Barcelona.

I am just hoping we can get the Saturday lunchtime fixture because it should give us enough time to rest for Barcelona and maybe playing at home in the CL will benefit that rest time more with us not having to worry about travelling on the Monday, I don't know.

We play on Tuesday in the CL and Arsenal play on the Wednesday, so hopefully the TV companies have the logic to put us on the Saturday and Arsenal on the Sunday.

I think the Sunderland game on the Wednesday leading up to these games may have to be looked as a game where we will have to look at getting away with playing as many second string players as we can without losing, it's the only way to accomodate two big games in such little space of time in my opinion.

I actually agree with you IF the Champions League is bottom of our list of priorities and if it was up to me it would be bottom of that list, but I think in Peller's case Champions League is important to him ( and the owners) almost as much as the Prem.
