Marvin, forget it, there's not a chance that the manager will prioritise the Chelsea game over the Sunderland game. The league is still the priority.

He would be a fool to put out a shit team against Sunderland, and he isn't. Couple that with the fact that Chelsea is in the middle of the two -less recovery time - and the answer is there
We could beat Sunderland with

--------------------Hart
Micah----MDM---Nasty----Clichy
--------------Garcia-Rodwell
--------------Navas-Lopes
--------------Dzeko-Jovetic

If we play the Chelsea game on the Saturday, then that's one of the FA Cup and Champions League games gone, or both depending on how Pellegrini spreads his players.

We can not play the same team twice, and it's highly unlikely that we'd beat a very well organised Chelsea team with a weakened team so it follows that we play fringe players against Barcelona.

Why are we playing the Sunderland game on the Weds? Surely we knew about the potential fixture crunch around these dates?
Marvin I'm not sure I'd like to see that side start any game at the moment let alone a must win game against Sunderland.
He'll already have his Barca team in mind and he'll have his teams in mind for this weeks/ weekends games. After that he'll be cutting his clothe accordingly with the league taking priority over the fa cup.
No I wouldn't like to start it either, but it would mean we could play a very strong team against Chelsea on Friday night and Barca on Tuesday might

You don't think it's worth the risk then? If we play on Saturday, then one of Chelsea/FCB has to be the above mentioned team, and they would almost certainly lose against much stronger opposition. Would be easier if Nasri and Jovetic were fit and 100%

No mate I don't. The Sunderland game maybe seen by many of us as a banker but I don't think for one minute it should be treated as such.
By the time that game comes around I think hell be putting out the very best team he can without compromising his preferred formation for the Barca game.

Does anybody know when they are likely to make a decision on which date we are going to play?

Our priorities should be Barca, Sunderland and Chelsea a distant third IMHO

Sunderland must be our number 1 priority. The league is a fucking long, drawn out affair. Lose it and it's 38 games we've toiled for nowt. I'd take the league over winning the other 3. Just.

This is the priority for Sheikh Mansour and Pellegrini.

IMO we have a fantastic chance of winning the 3 English trophies in one season which no one as ever done (correct me if I'm wrong) and I would love us to field the strongest teams for these but Barca will come first.

The barca game will be the number 1 priority just because of the prestige and money involved in the competition. But the other two will surely depend on where we are in the league. If we are behind then sunderland would be priority. But if we have a lead then we should risk playing a weakened team so we can continue in the fa cup. We are far more likely to be sunderland with a weakened team than chelsea.
