No I wouldn't like to start it either, but it would mean we could play a very strong team against Chelsea on Friday night and Barca on Tuesday mightGaylord du Bois said:Marvin I'm not sure I'd like to see that side start any game at the moment let alone a must win game against Sunderland.Marvin said:We could beat Sunderland withDidsbury Dave said:Marvin, forget it, there's not a chance that the manager will prioritise the Chelsea game over the Sunderland game. The league is still the priority.
He would be a fool to put out a shit team against Sunderland, and he isn't. Couple that with the fact that Chelsea is in the middle of the two -less recovery time - and the answer is there

If we play the Chelsea game on the Saturday, then that's one of the FA Cup and Champions League games gone, or both depending on how Pellegrini spreads his players.
We can not play the same team twice, and it's highly unlikely that we'd beat a very well organised Chelsea team with a weakened team so it follows that we play fringe players against Barcelona.
Why are we playing the Sunderland game on the Weds? Surely we knew about the potential fixture crunch around these dates?
He'll already have his Barca team in mind and he'll have his teams in mind for this weeks/ weekends games. After that he'll be cutting his clothe accordingly with the league taking priority over the fa cup.
You don't think it's worth the risk then? If we play on Saturday, then one of Chelsea/FCB has to be the above mentioned team, and they would almost certainly lose against much stronger opposition. Would be easier if Nasri and Jovetic were fit and 100%
