The only option for City is the Friday.

We can play a weakened team and beat Sunderland on the Weds, but we can't play a weakened team v Chelsea and expect to win. If we are forced to play on the Saturday, then the teams we field against Chelsea and/or Barca will be weakened

Marvin, forget it, there's not a chance that the manager will prioritise the Chelsea game over the Sunderland game. The league is still the priority.

He would be a fool to put out a shit team against Sunderland, and he isn't. Couple that with the fact that Chelsea is in the middle of the two -less recovery time - and the answer is there
We could beat Sunderland with

--------------------Hart
Micah----MDM---Nasty----Clichy
--------------Garcia-Rodwell
--------------Navas-Lopes
--------------Dzeko-Jovetic

If we play the Chelsea game on the Saturday, then that's one of the FA Cup and Champions League games gone, or both depending on how Pellegrini spreads his players.

We can not play the same team twice, and it's highly unlikely that we'd beat a very well organised Chelsea team with a weakened team so it follows that we play fringe players against Barcelona.

Why are we playing the Sunderland game on the Weds? Surely we knew about the potential fixture crunch around these dates?

You're a maniac

Why are so many people still going on about when it should be played, or more importantly playing weekends teams, and even playing reserves / u21s in protest. Sunderland is must win, needs a strongest team possible. Chelsea is 5th round of FA cup, and winners have a fair chance of winning it. Need strongest team possible. Barca. Enough said. Need strongest team possible. All 3 are winnable and all as important as each other

Are we really becoming one of those teams that complains about fixtures and expect things to be changed to suit us? A couple of years ago we'd have done anything to be in 4 competitions playing massive games against great teams all in a week, now some, only a minority, are suggesting almost throwing games if they don't give us what we want. Let's enjoy it, play when they tell us, and win all three like we all know we can

No its just a few fans on a forum, I don't think the club are complaining, they're just getting on with it.

I hope so. I'm sure the club themselves are just getting on with it. I'd just hate to see any of our loyal fanbase to start talking like those redshite from over there, expecting special treatment.

We have always done things the hard way. It would be great if it was made as hard as possible and we still came out on top
