FA Cup 5th Round Draw (against Chelsea Home)

IS anyone else really struggling with their social life this season?

I keep talking to people who want to make plans or invite us somewhere and my first secret thought is "Must check the fixtures".

That's my default position, the first thing I do is check the City website to see who we're playing when I'm invited to do anything!

I'm juggling it well, so far. Still married and have only missed about two homes. But I've committed what could be the ultimate fuck up. My best mate did this one twice, once for the Gillingham game and once for the QPR game.

I've booked a week's holiday starting on May 24th. It was only afterwards I realised that that is the date of the Champions League final.

Basics - I managed to somehow allow my wife to book a holiday for the cup final last season - Not only that we took off 20 minutes before kick off - what a torturous journey and then landing for some red prick to start cheering Wigan had won. good job I had a my 2yo daughter on my knee!

For the first time in my life I'm keeping a diary outside of work to keep track.

No I wouldn't like to start it either, but it would mean we could play a very strong team against Chelsea on Friday night and Barca on Tuesday might

You don't think it's worth the risk then? If we play on Saturday, then one of Chelsea/FCB has to be the above mentioned team, and they would almost certainly lose against much stronger opposition. Would be easier if Nasri and Jovetic were fit and 100%

Our priorities should be Barca, Sunderland and Chelsea a distant third IMHO

The barca game will be the number 1 priority just because of the prestige and money involved in the competition. But the other two will surely depend on where we are in the league. If we are behind then sunderland would be priority. But if we have a lead then we should risk playing a weakened team so we can continue in the fa cup. We are far more likely to be sunderland with a weakened team than chelsea.

I strongly suspect this may be true, for the owners. I also strongly suspect that many ordinary fans, like myself, would take the league every single time if they were absolutely forced to make a choice. Although I notice in talking to younger Blues that they've got the stardust of the CL in their eyes. Not me. The PL is the hardest competition in world football to win.

I certainly am, but it's putting an even bigger strain on my finances.

Cost me a fortune and not just in tickets but in keeping the Missus sweet.

She as had her hair done, new firdge, new freezer, new coat, new Ugg boots.

but I still get "your going to the match AGAIN"
