FA Cup Final - Post Game thread

Still struggling to shake off the dissapointment of yesterday. Feels much worse than Wigan, but not as bad as Chelsea.
Growing up I never dreamed of winning the league or the European cup, thats just ridiculous. All I dreamt of was a cup final, possibly beating them in the final. Chances were slim, but last season it finally happened. Then twelve months later we had a chance to do it again, to rub their noses in it again after all these years. Dreamland.
But alas it wasnt to be. So my dissaponitment doesnt stem from where we are now as a club, but a sharp reminder of those dark years during the 90's and 00's when they rubbed our noses in it, far more often than we have done to them.

Still can’t believe we only used 3 substitutes, especially when the MOTM poll shows that others couldn’t really complain if they’d seen the crook.

That might need to change next season, irrespective of whether it puts some established noses out of joint.

Haaland shot against the bar, Alvarez miss, Foden scuffed shot and Walker thunderbolt. If those go in a very different game...oh well we cannot win everything every year.
Bang on, 1 of those earlier than 85 minutes and they shit the bed big time.

Fucked off with the referee, the time keeping and the Rag cheating, all allowed in plain sight

How many fucking yellows should they have had.

2 Minutes first half, joke!

7 minutes second of which about 4 were played, fucking joke.

Anyone feel the fans are hurting more than the players?
That will almost definitely be the case. I'm guessing that it's a minority of the players who'll have an affinity with the club, much as we might like to think otherwise. Whereas near enough every fan will bleed blue if you cut them. Don't get me wrong; I'm not blaming the players. They're not fans. To them it's a (very well paid) job. If (repeat; if), God forbid, the 115 verdict came in tomorrow, and were relegated, you could see a few of them wanting out.

Yes we have just won 4 in a row but you can't tell me that the standard of our football this last season has matched that of our trophy winning seasons in the last 6 years.

Yet again we've made history but it's been a hard watch at times. You'd have to be blind to see that we've simply not been as effective as we have been in previous seasons. As yesterday and the Arsenal game showed, teams now know that if they stay deep and compact we will struggle.
You only have to review our record against the better sides. It's the worst for a few seasons.

Exactly. The banner in the corner of leaky towers, the constant piss taking and out right nasty arrogance. Yesterday brought some of that back even though we have had the much better season and when all said and done yesterday‘s result was a cup upset, they aren’t better than us, not by a million miles. The only game we thoroughly deserved to lose this season was Villa away and the second half at Klanfield when we were absolutely appalling.

2 mins first half was wrong to start with but I’m boring and I timed 55 secs of it being wasted waiting for the free kick to be taken which the incompetent **** of a ref didn’t add one second of on to the end of the 2 mins

7 mins second half was more realistically 15.

We need a rugby style stopped clock system

100 percent. If we were in the Champions League final next weekend I'm sure the players wouldn't have gone on a bender after the West Ham game either or had the permission to do so. They'd have never compromised not being in as optimum condition as possible for that. Absolutely baffled by it and it shows how much value they place on the FA Cup.

They held back before the CL Final last year though compared to the 5am finish following the title this year. That said I think yesterdays defeat was mostly tactical.
I would put it down to not being able to string 2 passes together.
Not like us at all plus no idea what the goalie was doing at the first goal.
