FA Cup Games | 3rd Round | 4/5/6/7/8 Jan '24

I’ve no recollection whatsoever of Waddle playing for Sunderland.
Only briefly and one of them was the last game of 90-91 when City won 3-2 despite not playing that well. Michael Hughes had a decent game and if i remember correctly David White scored the winner with a diving header. Sunderland went down as a result and their brilliant fans (at least 10,000) were still singing half an hour after kick off. I could still hear them a mile away.
I do remember The Kippax singing en masse Sit Down when it was played over the tannoy at half time

I love the beautiful North East and we have been on holiday there a few times. Love the warmth and friendliness of people there too.

No offence Geordies, but come on Sunderland today!

I understand the mentality behind the "if we beat Newcastle, it's the peak of our season" guff. But, shirley, promotion (if they were to achieve it) would be THE peak?

If you offered the Sunderland fans defeat today, but promotion next may, I can't see too many turning it down!

Keep hearing Newcastle have a depleted squad but who are they missing other than Pope today?

The fact we’ve been without De Bruyne, Stones, Doku, Haaland and even Grealish for large parts of the season has been kept very quiet In comparison

Remember that day very clearly. Still not bringing back any memories of Waddle playing for them though unfortunately.
