FA Cup SF | Liverpool | Sat 16 Apr 15:30 | Travel, Ticket & Pub Discussion

Um - 1933? If you leave at half time you might just make it?
The match kicks off at 15.30 hrs.
4 hours should be enough time for a 90 minutes game, with 15 minutes for HT and then another 60 minutes if extra time and penalties are possibly needed.
You maybe need to check your knowledge of the 24 hour clock??

Let's all get down there the best we can and give the boys our magnificent support....whoever in our Maine Rd days would we have thought we would be classed as one of probably the two best sides in Europe hopefully soon to be No1.....c'mon City.

Better than nothing but it's a token gesture that benefits a small number of fans whilst the rest will have to pay a lot more than normal for coach travel due to current fuel prices. It's a PR exercise and a cheap one at that that will help less than 10% of the expected crowd. FA should be heavily subsidising the match tickets to help all fans that will have to shell out a fortune to get to Wembley, it should really be in addition to the limited free travel but for the same price they're putting on those coaches they could have knocked a tenner off of everybody's ticket. instead, the tickets will no doubt be a joke.

The city run coaches are usually a tightly run ship, dry coach, timetable centred around getting there purely for the game, even for free its not particularly enticing. I've used a city coach once after a last minute screw up with my usual away travel, we kept ourselves to ourselves, behaved but brought some booze disguised, a couple of random lads infront of us did the same thing but was drinking something that you could smell. some absolute weapons decided to complain about them despite them being no problem, the women in charge wasn't even bothered but had to do something because these twats complained. The people that will take them free seats up I suspect will largely be people who would have otherwise driven down so won't be drinking and are looking to save on costs.

wembley should never host the semi finals but they will never ever move it unless fans decide en masse not to attend. That's the only way to get them to move and even that is. Bit of a long shot and may require multiple boycotts. That's never happening.

I'm happy with the kick off time, early start but not a stupidly early start and plenty of time to get back before midnight.

I don't understand why people are so angry though. Wembley is the home of English football. We are playing there a lot which is great! I don't agree that the semis should be at Wembley but they are. Unfortunately, we support a team 200 miles from Wembley. I slightly understand if you live in Manchester but just for that reason it shouldn't be moved from Wembley. I bet most people having a moan will be there on the 16th!

Unpopular opinion maybe...

its only the home of english football because of the FA incompetance/corruption.

Why the fuck would any organisation choose to build a stadium in a part of London that even Londoners find it hard to get to.
When the original wembley needed to be replaced they should have built a national stadium in a different location

Wasn't there talk about the national stadium being in Birmingham? Not sure why that wasn't followed up on, pretty central for all parts of England. Probably too far for the G&T FA committee to travel!

It's done now but the best location was in the triangle between M1, M6 and M69. Between Coventry, Leicester and Rugby. Excellent transport links from all directions and easy to get to from several airports for international games. Too sensible.

Don't agree Londoners find it hard to get to as it's a piece of piss on their tube system. Think most people would agree the semi's shouldn't be held there but we're stuck with it.
Its eleven years since we played trafford in the semi there and everyone was up for it as we'd not been there for a while.
We queued for over five hours to buy tickets from the Etihad for it (no online tickets then) Going by some posts, if we had to do that today we would be lucky if there was one man and his dog in that queue. How times have changed.
