FA CUP Ticket information-SOLD OUT 17:40

Not being in the cup scheme doesn't mean you can't be arsed to go to early rounds of the cup.

Nor does being in the cup scheme mean that you can, being a scheme member for the last couple of years I've missed a few games as I've been working.

Agree with this I imagine for some they are spending a lot of money on a season ticket maybe 2 and agreeing to spend more is too much

Not too embarrassed to admit, that that is exactly what it meant to us 3 long distance seasoncard Holders prior to joining cup scheme.

Yes, we had the genuine excuse , extra expense and considerable travelling, work commitments, family etc, but (potential replays apart) FA Cup games should be on a weekend, which in truth dont really make them ,any more difficult than every other home game. So really , in honesty, it came down to how much we wanted to make the extra effort to attend. Until fairly recently early rounds, particularly against so called lower opposition didnt tick enough boxes, (ie couldnt be arsed enough!) . 2 of us got Stoke tickets on loyalty points, 3rd lad got his (more expensive ) from local FA, and we decided there and then that Cup Scheme was the answer.

The reality of poor home attendances for (early round) FA Cup ties tend to suggest, that a hell of a lot of Seasoncard holders couldnt be arsed

I went to the FA cup home games against Watford, Leeds and Barnsley. They were all sell outs.

I have sympathy with any Blue, who genuinely couldnt afford to join the Cup Scheme, but without being arrogant, as others have pointed out, A Semi final ticket cost about the same as this years commitment to the Cup Scheme, and a Final Ticket probably considerably more if you take into account travel, food etc. so in reality, if you couldnt afford the cup scheme commitment, you would be struggling to afford a Final ticket anyway

Sorry, hadnt made it clear, i was referring to poor home attendances in previous years (Rags excepted last year). 2 years ago, the only cup games we attended were Reading and then semi and Final, there are all sorts of excuses, but the honest explanation is that for all sorts of reasons, we couldnt be bothered ENOUGH put ourselves out ,. arrange holiday from work and travel 300 miles etc.

In truth we were part of the problem, because thousands of seasoncard holders (like us ) didnt
bother with early rounds. Having joined the Cup Scheme 2 years ago, we are part of the solution
