Need a LB so badly. I love the guys attitude and you can't question his work rate but the guy is not a fucking LB. Positionally he is woeful, always misreading the ball at the back post or needlessly diving in at the half way line leaving his CB's exposed. Zinchenko is no better. If we seriously want to win the Champs League we won't be doing it with either of them at LB.

On the Richardson attempt, he had 2 players in him and tracked the one in the more dangerous position. Lewin.Lost his man in the box 3 times.
1st time Richarlison tried to volley instead of heading.
2nd time was the goal
3rd time Walcott put it over from 5 yards out.
Not good enough today.
On the goal, he was simply out jumped by a more athletic player.
I don't remember the Walcott one.
This is not to suggest he played well, but I'd rather not blame him for things that weren't his fault.

Sorry Dax but that's bollocks. He wasn't out jumped for the goal, he got caught sleeping on the wrong side of the attacker.
He's very lucky Everton couldn't finish.

Agree with this. Walker the bigger concern for me. He is our Big Momey FB, not a midfielder pinch hitting as FB. Walker was poor today. The worst of the back 4.He had afew ify moments but so did all the defence walker the most.

He was helping out on the striker Lewin. His man was Walcott, who was back post.
Walker and Ota with their sloppty play onthe right left 3 men in the box. first error.
Delph then tried to keep a high line to catch some of the strikers offsides, but Laporte didn't read that correct decision and dropped really deep. Second error.
Delph then drops, but holds the space between the 2 free players then attacks the ball when it came in. Is this an error? Sure. You should always defend the most central attacker when caught btw 2.
But of all the errors in that sequence, Delph's was the least eggregious.

I’m a big fan of Delph but he’s beginning to worry me as a defender. He was impetuous when he came on against Hoffenheim and made quite a lot of errors today.
Pardon my ignorance but does anyone know when Mendy is expected to be back?
He’s far from perfect but I do believe he’s an upgrade on Delph and Zinchenko.

Our achievements were down to the team as a whole, I think people get seriously carried away with Delph's performances last season. He did a job and kept it simple but no more than that imo. Big teams will target him and he'll get found out is all I'm saying.
