So who plays left back at Klanfield ? Delph is a strong player but is liable to make a costly defensive lapse , Mendy is our best attacking full back but defending is secondary to his game when we will need a more cautious approach , Zinchenko is actually our strongest all rounder in that position on current form , if he makes a mistake he recovers quickly and uses the ball really well , so i would play Zinchenko up a against an out of form Mo Salad next Saturday....................... Puts tin hat on

Mendy if he's fit.

Liverpool do badly against very attacking fullbacks. Key to their style of play is their own fullbacks getting forwards and the wingers going narrow, so when they are faced with an attacking threat at fullback, it disrupts them. Look at Marcos Alonso for Chelsea yesterday. It pushed Salah back, and meant Alexander-Arnold couldn't help gang up on Chelsea's midfielders when pressing.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka caused them similar problems in the Palace game on the right, as did Mendy in the 5-0.

It's not ideal because Salah is going to get in behind you, but if you have someone comfortable on the left side of defence, like we do in Laporte, then he can get across and deal with it.

Pep mentioned that he won't be back this week...do we even know what happened to him? I like the guy a lot but it's kind of tough keeping a squad player around who's always injured.

Not included in the squad this weekend but was training. Hopefully he’s fine and ready for Tuesday.
