Anyone reckon Delph changed his mind because he's been told we're signing another midfielder and he's thought "no chance I'll get game time"?

Not got anything against Delph for choosing what he thinks is in his best interests. Playing in the Euros is going to be a big deal for him, and with the strength of City's squad he'd have a struggle playing regularly

As for the so called fans criticising Txiki, what more can he do than make the player an offer which he was obviously interested in. The reality that he would have a fight for his place is pretty evident to everyone, or should be.

Look at who we've signed in the past 4 transfer windows. Yes we've had FFP to contend with but we've still spent money!

I trust the chairman. I don't trust Txiki. Exactly, I know it's only early on but the signs are undeniably ominous.

Farting about with Sterling, farting about with Juve, heard fuck all on KDB for ages and now the 'easiest' deal of the four has gone tits up! Like I said, it's ominous.

OK for more than a day, that bit's irrelevant.
We did agree a deal with him and his agent. We invoked the clause officially with villa and for whatever reason he said no.
 
Why did Delph insist on such a low buyout clause if he's so loyal to Villa?

He clearly doesn't think he's good enough to play regularly for us. Hart and Milner were good enough and they were in every England squad. So were Barry and Lescott during their prime.

We tried to buy him for double that price when he was at Leeds and he is has come a long way since then.

He has desire and the legs to give us a major uplift.

And call it football karma. We lost a £20m rated player for free the other week and we are replacing him with a younger upgrade who would also cost £20m plus in normal circumstances.

He absolutely bossed us at the Etihad the other month and dragged Villa back into that game.

I'm probably gonna get shot down, for being a "flapper". However I can't help but think, this transfer window is going to be another complete letdown. Now I know all things take time, and I by no means claim to know the ins and outs of it all. It is also silly to think, we'd hit all our A targets. Just with what our chairman said, and players alike, about bringing in some world class talent, I thought we'd be pretty swift, trying to attain our targets, and swiftly move on to others if they went tits up. I hope we don't get left behind again, it isn't a football manager game, this I know, we can't get everyone we're interested in. I was just hopeful that with the shackles of FFP off, we'd be going all out to get our targets, and get them done early. Yes we shouldn't be bent over a barrel, but we also need to be ruthless, and if one transfer isn't working out. Move on to other targets. I hope I'm wrong, but I can't help thinking this window, may turn out to be another anti climax. For me (though still early in the window) it's starting to feel worryingly familiar, to past transfer windows. Where our signings were woefully underwhelming, and did'nt improve our side whatsoever. I've already shot down a few Rags, who are wanking themselves silly. About Delph, "turning us down" whilst they've signed Germany's captain( yes the thick cockwomble actually said that). Really hoping for a real marquee signing, to shut the silly feckers up.
