It's amazing what being genuinely linked with a player does to a person's opinion of them. I remember a Delph/Wanyama thread not too long ago and he was a mid table player only good enough for a Europa League team.
He still is,as a first choice......however,he's also a great option in a squad challenging in all competitions.

Doubt all of the news outlets would report it as us activating his release clause if it was only if villa got relegated. Would have been made more clear by now if that was the case, I'd have thought anyway.

The press will say 100k + a week. They haven't a clue!.
I bet it's not too far off, it's not that much these days for a top Prem club, he's Happy to sit On the bench, I reckon that comes at a price. Only £8 million, saves city spunking £32 million more to get Jack Wilshire and he'd be on more than 100k a week.

i think we tried to buy him when at Leeds

I quite like him and think he will be a good signing. Very mobile and good distribution. He reminds me of a more mobile Gaz Baz. I think he will be a very good signing for us and will play more of a role than people think.

As some have all ready said you cant have a squad of superstars every team needs players like delph and if we do get him im confident he will play his fair share in the coming years.

A no-brainer at £8m. Has the potential to be of a similar level to Fernandinho. He certainly has similar attributes.

Reading interviews, he appears driven, determined to improve and wants to prove himself.
