Fabregas

The way Barca are tapping up players, talking them into saying "I only want to sign for Barca" but then putting in bids below their market value is disgusting.

If they want the players, they should be willing to offer the same money as other clubs are willing to pay rather than trying to intimidate the selling clubs into letting the players go cheap rather than having an usettled player on their hands.

It's a bad way to treat the players too. Promise them everything, then not sign them & leave their careers full of uncertainty. They should put up or shut the fuck up.

Yeah...i think thats the reason Sanchez might have changed his mind and "only want Barca". Barca tap up players and they say they have a 45million euros budget.

They offer the cash in installments for the next 5 years. Thats sad.

I bet they can't afford Sanchez and i hope they dont.

Well lets see what happens. I can't see him going anywhere but barca personally.
Don't get me wrong, I reckon it is his most likely destination and I am sure it is his favoured destination. I just cannot abide all this stuff about it being his dream and that he wouldn't consider moving elsewhere when he has already shown that he will do whatever is right for his career regardless of this "dream." I wonder if he would be insisting on Barcelona if they were mid table? personally I think we should at least have a go, I reckon fabregas could be persuaded.

That would be a huge waste of time.

While Barca are still negotiating with Arsenal, yes it is. But if they were to pull out leaving the transfer dead in the water then what's the harm in making an enquiry ourselves - one that doesn't take the piss and matches what Arsenal are looking for - and then sounding out Fabregas as to whether we'd be a viable option? If not, then fair enough we move on but a simple enquiry is hardly going to take too much time up.

-- Sat Jul 02, 2011 9:18 am --

For all this cringeworthy talk about how they're "More than a club" and that they're some model organisation that we should all look up to, the way they go about business is a total disgrace.

They've been publically tapping up Fabregas for over 12 months now - I thought Real were bad when they were after Ronaldo but this is arguably worse because at least Real stumped up a decent wedge of money.

He would cost a pretty nice sum and Fab wouldn't play for another english club. Thats for sure.

You shouldn't waste time on him trying to persued him because we all know he wants to go to Barca. He wouldn't be happy for long. And he has been injured pretty much aswell.

Better find yourself the next Fabregas or a similiar player.

Do you think he wouldn't go anywhere else in England out of respect to arsenal or do you buy into "fab's dream." if Barcelona can't agree a fee, do you think he would be open to a move to us? I reckon we should at least talk to him , worst he could do is say no. Arsenal are going nowhere, I'd be surprised if he wants to stay there too much longer.

The 'he wouldn't play for another English club' bit is probably on Barca's advice, so they can get him cheap, rather than a truthful statement about some kind of misguided pretend loyalty to Arsenal by Fabregas. It rules out the two clubs who can best afford him, City & Chelsea. Then they've ruled out Real Madrid because 'he's a Barca boy' it's all brainwashing from Barca imo to once again get a player below market value.

If Fabregas realises they're fucking him about, there may come a point his attiude changes. He may be close to that if they don't conclude this deal soon.

If I were Fab and Barca didn't sign me this summer I'd be majorly pissed off. It's not like Ronaldo at United, who could have won things there if RM didn't stump up the cash. What if Fab goes through his whole career winning nothing at Arsenal waiting for a call from Barca that never comes? "we'll try again next year mate, hang in there".. next year rolls around "sorry they still want too much, and we've got Thaigo now, sorry!".

I understand his respect for Arsene, but if it comes to the end of the transfer window and there's still been no movement a last ditch move may not be completely outside the realms of possibility. That is assuming we haven't already filled the space.

I think Cesc has said many times he wont go to another English team. Sure we have to take what footballer says not too serious. But just few weeks ago he said this.

"If some day I leave Arsenal it will never be to sign for another English team. I'm very sure,"

Barca are a disgrace. Tapping up players left right and centre, making stupid offers and then paying little or nothing up front. If Platini was serious about fair play he's be looking at this rather than preventing affluent individuals investing new equity and additional funds into the game.

The Catalans have a reputation for being tight fisted but this is a blatant use of the Barca brand to entice players they know they can´t afford and who are smitten with the very word Barcelona. Like their football but their behaviour as a club is distasteful to say the least. Dog eat dog I suppose and you have to make use of your greatest assets
