Fabregas

Wait a second - let me get this straight.

So - Barca have received a £25 million bid for Fabregas, and have very publically come out and released a statement indicating that the player wants to stay, and that he is 'untransferable' - and we're seriously expected to believe that an extra £5 million is going to change that situation.

In terms of the fees being paid for players this summer, and over recent years, £5 million is not a great sum any more - certainly not enough to make a Club completely change their stance on one of their key players.

And United know this. You have to ask yourself why they are constantly briefing the press over the bids they are making for Fabregas, whilst they didn't do so with either Thiago or with their Baines bid. Its because this whole Fabregas fiasco is a marketing and publicity gimmick designed at appeasing their gullible, thick as pig shit fans and their US Shareholders - nothing more.

I imagine they are quite quietly going about the business of trying to sign Fellaini and Baines, whilst gobbing off to the world about their audacious, game changing £5 million improved bid which Barca will find it impossible to refuse.

Laughable from the Rags. If they're serious about convincing a Club to sell a player they want to keep - act like it and make them a genuinely game-changing offer - this bid certainly does not qualify as being at that level. The fact they they aren't doing this tells you everything you need to know about the intention of this bid.

They are a shambles this summer - the effect of losing the quality of both Ferguson and Gill in one go, and replacing them with dog average nonentities like Moyes and Woodward, is clear for all to see!

Not a serious bid. Rags are just embarrassing themselves.
£30m plus add-ons would be a record incoming deal for Man Utd.

They've already gone too far - most of the biggest deals are for forwards

Tremendous post.

How come when Barca rejected the first bid, did Moyes not just drop it and walk away like he told us to do with Lescott?

Because he's a bitter and twisted hypocrite, with a face like Prince Philip's scrotum, and the charm of anal wart.

They must have some encouragement from somewhere (Barca or the Cesc camp), no top club can be so stupid as to keep bidding if they know there is no chance of it happening.

Would be epic if the Cesc camp are playing United to get him an improved position of importance at Barca.

Something doesn't sit right about this transfer on one hand the rag media are all saying they will get him while Barca are saying he ain't for sale. No one in their right mind would go so vocal about someone who is that unobtainable, so it may mean that there is some substance to the fact that Fartegas wants to join them, is the only explanation I can come up with, but if they were to agree a fee of 35m wouldn't the Gooners jump at the chance to get him back for 25m unless of course they have already attempted that and he has told Wenger not going back.
