Thiago has gone, Xavi is 33 so Fabregas becomes more important.

Even if Utd offer stupid money, and the reported £30m plus add-ons is approaching that, then if FCB feel they have to replace him, how would they do that at this stage in the Summer. They'd have to pay well over the odds, and the players they want may not be available

Fabregas to United really doesn't make any sense at all. First of all Fabregas was recently quoted as saying the only people he owes anything to in life is his ' Mum, Dad and Arsene'

But more importantly Barcelona are incredibly lightweight in midfield, if they let Fabregas go they will only be left with

They must have some encouragement from somewhere (Barca or the Cesc camp), no top club can be so stupid as to keep bidding if they know there is no chance of it happening.

Would be epic if the Cesc camp are playing United to get him an improved position of importance at Barca.

This is what I think is happening. I think United genuinely think they have a chance of signing him. Whereas he just wants a new deal at Barça.

If you intend to be condescending, at least try to do it with a water-tight argument.
Considering that we are still lacking a substantial amount of skill, despite reinforcement in the form of Fernandinho, in central midfield, it doesn't take rocket science to understand why we should throw our hat in the ring, as regards to Fabregas.
Infact we have inquired about a similar midfielder this summer, only to be informed of his status of availability, or lack thereof.
Therefore, if Cesc Fabregas is for sale, be rest assured that Manchester City will be contacted concerning his availability, and will get involved in this transaction, as will other elite clubs.
Why, you may ask?
Well, if you happen to pull your head out of your pretentious ass you'll understand that this will only serve to benefit Barcelona, if, as they claim, generation of transfer funds is their motivation.
