Jack, how do you rate Jones, Clevz and Wellbrilliant?

Jones and Welbeck will be great for us, Jones especially. I think he has the most potential. With Welbeck it's just a question of where he will end up. He plays up front, behind the striker and out wide and so far has only really used his skills to help the team collectively, such as marking Alonso or his work rate. A striker that can't finish is pretty much as problematic as it gets so he really needs to start doing that if he wants to start for us regularly after the age of about 25.

Cleverley, while promising hasn't really stepped up. He's good at keeping the ball and can pass it well but doesn't really impose himself on the game. Not creative enough, or defensive enough to be given a style. He just sort of partners Carrick and keeps himself open for a pass. People keep talking as if he's a young player but he's 24, if he is to make it here he needs to prove himself.

But yeah, Jones excites me. I think he will be top class, providing we play him at cb and stop fooling ourselves that he can play central midfield.

yeah 1 PL goal in a season from a striker is truly fucking exciting

Welbeck is class, If I was Moyes I'd try him beside Carrick this season. Dembele was a hard-working, skillful, quick, non-goalscoring striker so I don't see why Welbeck can't be. Clevz is a decent squad player massively overrated by the media and rags but I'd swap him for Garcia. Jones is fucking rank rotten. I'm cringing at being gutted he went to the rags.

Sky are just trying their hardest to keep the story alive by using vague things that are impossible to prove or disprove. That's why he's "considering", beause noone can prove he isn't. I don't think Barca or Cesc could have been much more definitive and clear in their rejection, but Sky and United both have ulterior motives to try and keep the story alive as long as possible

Seems to be that way, It's just that there's no way of knowing whether they do genuinely want us to bugger off or are just playing hard to get. Every club has their price. Remember Sir Alex saying he wouldn't sell Madrid a virus, 12 months before sanctioning Ronaldo's transfer?

I thought your highly moralistic manager would have done the decent thing after being told to fuck off !! After all he slated us and caused no end of bad blood between ourselves and Everton over the Lescott transfer and called our behaviour disgusting !! Now he has a couple of shiny pennies to spend it seems his morals have been corrupted and is acting like a chav millionaire trying to buy things which are out of his class and doing it with the panache of a dustbin collector !! What happened to doing our business in private ?? he has briefed the press more times than Max Clifford. I hate the Scottish cnut and hope the dour dreary hypocrite fall flat on his piss soaked face !!

Who knows what goes on behind closed doors though? This very public to and fro between the clubs is one thing but I can't imagine we'd be daft enough to persist without some indication in private that a deal could be reached. If anything to save face in case Fabregas stays.

I agree. If you really read what they printed it's pure speculation. "Barcelona may consider a £35million offer, " but they didn't say United made a 35m offer or was even willing to. Like saying City would consider 100m offer Silva.
