Manchester 35, no?
It was when we were there, between '89 and '99. M10 was our postcode in Newton Heath, but know that is now M40 as my old man still there.

New Moston is M40 as well though (or at least parts of it are). I can't keep up with all these new-fangled changes... I remember when all this was fields etc. etc.It was when we were there, between '89 and '99. M10 was our postcode in Newton Heath, but know that is now M40 as my old man still there.
Spending the first 10 years of my life there I have often wondered this..........No coincidence the town’s name begins with “Fail”...
Granted it has been a while but I sure the shop is still there - I don't remember even looking for the chippy to ensure fair...........New Moston is M40 as well though (or at least parts of it are). I can't keep up with all these new-fangled changes... I remember when all this was fields etc. etc.
Do they still have Double Luck chippy next door to Bob's shop on Westminster Road?
Actually, I do remember driving through a few years ago and they'd actually done the park up to make it rather pleasant. As a kid, I spent many years in there. For years, there was an old bit of concrete pipe (1 metre or so in diameter) just lying in the middle where the roundabout used to be. That was what passed for entertainment in the 80s. Once or twice they put up a new slide which would get wrecked within days. But I believe it's now a pleasant little place to walk through with large ornamental rocks etc.Granted it has been a while but I sure the shop is still there - I don't remember even looking for the chippy to ensure fair...........
More to the point, is that little park still on that road with no playground stuff, just a field full of glass?
Still a chippy there yeah, different name. “Bob’s” bloody hell that’s going back. With his counter full of goods with dayglo signs proclaiming “Out of date, but still okay. 50p”Do they still have Double Luck chippy next door to Bob's shop on Westminster Road?
'kin hell - I imagine once they had gotten over the initial shock the locals were delighted with the spike in property increase :-)Actually, I do remember driving through a few years ago and they'd actually done the park up to make it rather pleasant. On a serious note - I am glad that it has been done up.Actually, I do remember driving through a few years ago and they'd actually done the park up to make it rather pleasant. If your going for a beer before the gig the Wheatsheaf is next door which is pretty basic but the landlady is a Blue. You have the Haughton Arms further down which isnt to bad or walk down Wickentree Lane and pop in the Bay which is where I should still be after work slurping San Miguel.Well I am going to give this Loose Cannon a look tonight. Never been a fan of tribute bands but I am a sucker for New Order. 2 stops on tram from NH to Hollinwood. Will see what it's like.

No worries, have good one. Saw New Order at GMEX back in the day after a City game. That was a lively day/night.I am going to have a couple in the Crown on Church St mate and then just get a taxi up I think. Am just gonna go up and have a few beers in there and see what they are like.
Its actually alright in the Loose Cannon. Will be a decent little venue for gigs. Unfortunately I don't see how they can make it pay. Probably only 50 people in there max last night. You would expect the Queen and Stone Roses tributes to fill the place, but they are going to struggle with most of them.
Could be a decent little goth/moshers venue.
Gets the thumbs up from me. £3.90 for a pint of San Miguel is reasonable. I hope it works out for them.
On a serious note - I am glad that it has been done up.
I will drive by when next I'm the area.......
Much obliged for that - it's like night and day isn't it?
I like it here, I can walk down the canal, deliberately ignoring (if that's possible) the sunken shopping trollies and discarded beer cans, walk past city's ground if I like, or take the kids to Brookdale park and hope we don't get run over by dicks on scramblers or bring dogshit home on our shoes. Or go the other way and past the derelict weavers and dominoes, the ferris wheel is up at the moment and its pretty at night and that.
