They (his representatives) wanted more than we were prepared to pay. You are right but this is now likely to gather pace and get done, the leak that we met the release price has worked and it's forced Monaco's hand, brinkmanship of the highest order.

Marwood was given from Jan of 2012 to conclude the deal and allowed another player to come to the table, unforgivable, that ultimately drove up the price and thus his ceiling for the player was punched through!

Looks like it has also forced Napoli to come to London and try to agree something for Cavani... it feels as if ADL is pushing for this deal to go through as if cavani himself and agent want City as his destination...

Marwood biggest downfall with that deal was not getting it concluded prior to the Champs Final, no way Hazard was joining Chelsea if they had lost, by leaving it gave them a chance they should never of had?
