They wanted more than we were prepared to pay. Marwood was told his limits and had to stick to them.

Marwood was given from Jan of 2012 to conclude the deal and allowed another player to come to the table, unforgivable, that ultimately drove up the price and thus his ceiling for the player was punched through!

I agree

Marwood biggest downfall with that deal was not getting it concluded prior to the Champs Final, no way Hazard was joining Chelsea if they had lost, by leaving it gave them a chance they should never of had?

Hand on heart would Soriano of closed?????

I'm not to bothered as i love Isco and for me they're like for like but the bad blood with Bob started way before the end of the season 2012, he also had a major run in when in Rome when trying to sign another highly publicised player!

The loss of those two was nothing to do with Marwood. As it happens, the fact we even got as close as we did to completing both was thanks to Marwood not in spite of him. But why let the fact you are KFA get in the way of a good rant?

RVP yes, Hazard you're way off with knobs on!

The reason we got anywhere near was 'Man City' the name, had nothing to do with Marwoods unique sales pitch and he fucked up the Hazard transfer royally!
They (his representatives) wanted more than we were prepared to pay. Marwood was told his limits and had to stick to them.

But an extra 3 million to secure the best player of his age in the league would surely have been worth it?

Try £5m paid direct to the agent.

If Chelsea had not won the Champions League he was going to United.

We pulled the plug on him, not the other way around.
