Fan Behaviour

Why is this nob in the City end?
Happens all the time at away days. Mostly in the bigger games, but sometimes in any.

We’ve had half a row of Hidjuk Split fans supporting Liverpool in our away end at Anfield.
Had Scousers in our away end at Anfield (one was thrown down the steps by some Blues)
Arsenal fans in our away end at the Emirates.
United fans are often in that little extra lower bit in our away end there, you can spot them a mile off.
We had German fans (Frankfurt I think they were) supporting Huddersfield in our away end at Hudds away.
None football fans just out for a day out in our away ends.

They get their tickets from these ticket tout websites that City sell tickets to to make a markup on them. An American woman at Spurs when they played their home games at Wembley was sat next to my mate and they got talking at half time and she nearly fainted when my mate told her he bought his ticket for £30 (she paid over £300 for her and her son’s tickets!)

A lot of these tickets from the tout sites are the empty seats you see at games. Namely in blocks 210 and 211 at the Etihad. And at away games we stand scratching our heads at time wondering why there are a chunk of seats empty, it’s the tickets from these tout sites (or, often, players’ family+friends tickets that haven’t been taken up) that are unsold that are the problem.

The added value of sitting next to a friend of yours PC, but a pittance. ;-)

No different to us older lads chanting “Hunter lost the World Cup”. Following his cock up leading to us being knocked out by Poland in November 1973
Before my time mate but I do remember being at Highbury and we were all chanting "Seaman Lost The World Cup" and doing stupid dive motions, and Seaman was laughing and joining in.

Remember North Stand chanting to Seaman" where were you when Koeman scored " fair play to Seaman took it in good part

Maybe the fans rep can bring this up at the next City Matters (or doesn't) meeting. Would be interesting to know the club's official stance. After all they have supposedly stopped giving loyalty to stop so called points whores yet are happy to let ticket sites sell our tickets to all and sundry. Not sure I understand their logic

I was in The Clock End and the City fans were at the far end. In my memory, as he ran over at the start of the game (or it might have been the start of the second half) and City fans were chanting "Let's all so a Seaman" and diving from side to side. He did it back and laughed.

Apart from a few semi-finals and finals over the past five years, I’ve sacked off away games. The main reason I have done this is because of the bad behaviour of a sizeable minority of blues. They let our club down and I just don’t need it any more.
Unfortunately I'm with you in this regard.
When I do travel, I tend to avoid the areas where people are congregating - if you head to a European city there are plenty of places to avoid the knobs
It's disappointing that people are being put off by this though

Basically scope out the Irish bar and walk in the other direction lol.

The club will blame it on the fans who get tickets through loyalty points again, and put in restrictive measures, whilst corporates, touts, sponsors, City employees and F&F get a free reign and more tickets as less go to points.
