Fans back at the Etihad

Not sure if there is another thread about this but Boris just announced that he hopes spectators will be allowed to return to football stadia from the middle of October. Not sure if that means limited capacity or full grounds. Looks like certain clubs will lose out on another chunk of match day income moving into next season. Given that Karren Brady said the other week it was hoped we would be back at the beginning of the season I guess that clubs are now hastily rewriting their 2020/21 budgets

At the moment it will be to rapidly reduced capacities and the current 1 metre social distancing rules. Be interesting to see how the club determines which season ticket holders at allow access for.

Got a meeting with the club on Monday - virtually of course - and I believe we're talking about how the immediate future looks.
Could you go down the path of asking who wants to renew for 21 22 season say £1 as a holder then actually ask who is wanting to go 20 21 season and work something with those numbers,
Maybe say only 20k would want to attend next season so problem maybe solved?

Yep. Cos we struggled against them with an empty ground. City would cake walk a league with no fans because our style of play doesn’t require the crowd to “gee us on” as much as other teams as the ball does the work so much more

It was more them not wanting us to play them at an empty Anfield.

This is what the club should be doing. Contacting all ST holders to see what demand is like if allowed back in.

As someone who has worked all through this pandemic,I want to be there when it resumes for fans
But i'll only go if my 12 year old is allowed too,he's on his 9th year as a season ticket holder next season
After working all this year I'll take my chances and return.

I never refer to him as “Boris”, on a good day he is that despicable cunnt Johnson

Here's one for @Prestwich_Blue

As suggested, could you see if the club would poll existing seasoncard holders to see how many of them would be prepared to come back this coming season (I definitely would be). If only half wanted to and no away supporters were allowed then potentially most or even all could be allowed in very early on.

I have already had a similar convo with my account manager a few weeks back.

They were looking into a few options but a the time she said the club and PL were optimistic at having at least Hospitality and Seasoncard holders back for the start of next season.

Even though the call was to take payment for my 20/21 package, she did ask if I would be happy coming back and they can work with me if I wasn’t prepared or had reservations etc...

Not quite sure what she meant as I did say I couldn’t wait to get back tbh so that was that

can you try and find out if people will lose their season ticket seats if they feel unable to go next season. Mum is 77, with copd amongst many serious health issues, she spent 12 weeks locked down getting more depressed and early dementia showing.. She cannot go until things are better - however that may be, and I don't want to go without her and pick things up that would kill her, or my 4 year old, or me with breathing problems. I don't drive - how would I get us there safetly? I have a knackered bladder thanks to Oldham hospital fucking up childbirth so have to use the loos loads at the match.. I desperately want to keep the seats we've had since the move from Maine road, and Been season ticket holders sat together for 30 years.. I want to get back there.

But am I going to have to pay full whack for a season we can't get to just so we don't lose our seats and our spot..
I haven't got the cash for that, and can't see ticket exchange sales being allowed.

I'm still so depressed about everything myself..

I think the clubs will not know how many people they are allowed in, as it will depend on the situation in October, and ultimately the club will not have the final decision as it will be referred to SAG

so that's us at home to Dippers behind closed doors in September, the return game at the end of the season with a full house at Anfield.
It’s quite an important point this. The only way to ensure fairness is for the fixtures to be arranged back to back. That’s to say whoever you play in week 1 you play again in week 2. If crowds are then allowed back in at some point, at least you’ll play teams home and away under the same circumstances, and not one without a crowd and one with.

So fans back in the stadium?

Do they have social distance and wear masks? Is it 1 metre 2 metres? Is it only a certain % allowed back? This is the problem with this bumbling Bafoon in charge of our country he talks in riddles mumbles with no certainty!

A few weeks ago when some in the media were talking about fans in ground they we talking about having to get there 3 hours before kick of temperature testing masks wearing and only Around 30% capacity in grounds.

Can you suggest that anybody who was at Newcastle in 1968 should be the first allowed back, especially if they went to all 42 league matches that season.

I hold my hand up to being one of that select band.
