Fans leaving early.

Re: Fans lea

Given that this is the best football most of us will ever have seen City play in our lives, it's safe to assume that those leaving early now will ALWAYS leave early, no matter what happens on the pitch or whatever time the kick-off is.

Makes me laugh to hear cliched excuses like having to beat the traffic, but why? To go where? For their tea? To watch TV? Sure, some people may have to leave early for shift work or to catch a plane and I can understand that, but thousands of people, every game?

Maybe some people just don't deserve or even appreciate the team they've got? I'd rather the ground was half-empty at the start of the game and stayed that way, rather than looking half-empty with 10 minutes to go. It might be a bit draughty like Maine Road could often be when crowds were around the 20,000 mark but at least we'd know they were all loyal fans.

And to think we give it the rags about their ground emptying as the Derby day goals were flying in!

Perhaps if the games started 10 minutes earlier they wouldn't have to.

That should be a rule actually. If you leave early mocking the rags over the 6-1 is not allowed.
What if you've got a plane to catch?
Where to?

It puzzles me why people insist on getting there for kick off.

Judging by the empty seats there are a large number who don't get there for the kick off if we believe the club that all prem games are sold out.

Unless they just picked up their free pie and left very early ;-)

What a load of faux nostalgic arsewipe.
So things were better when we were shite, because at least all the fans were 'loyal'?
I suffered the dross under Ball when we were crap, and often left before the end, because if I had stayed I would have self-harmed, or taken a fucking overdose it was that bad.
I went to most away games too, but clearly failed your 'loyalty' test miserably.
Maybe I don't deserve to see a decent team after 30 years of crap either.
It has fuck all to do with you or me what others do - they have paid for their seat, and it doesn't come with conditions attached.
But well done you - you are a proper fan, and win today's Bluemoon Top Trumps Fan Of The Day award.

For me if the team are winning 7-0 and the match is a foregone conclusion don't we (as fans) have some obligation to clap the team off for not only entertaining us but putting in a shift. After all when you go to the theatre (ok for me not often) you spend time at the end of the show applauding the cast. Imagine if the curtain went up to see half the audience had left?
If you've paid your money of course it's your choice but personally I don't get it and I don't agree with doing it. It's the sort of thing I associate with Rag day trippers
