Fantastic Season

Good season but I feel like we have had lots of hard kicks in the balls along the way.

Dress it up how you want.

Money and time have been invested in playing and coaching personnel to win the Champions League and it’s another year of failure.

The league is always the bread and butter and I’m delighted we are once again champions. Couldn’t give a fuck about the League Cup, just play the kids.

We’ve had a better season than I thought we would last November but still a bit gutted

night blues - roll on next season!

Amazing season especially after how we started it. Mad to change what's been winning for us tonight though.

Overall though amazing.
Not entirely correct. We started to stumble after the rags match. The rotation was over the top and destroyed our cohesion and collective strength as a team. Pep stumbles on a perfect balance but then systematically broke it down.

I have a simple theory: Pep has too many players to choose from and thus overcomplicates his first 11. The drop off in form the last month or so has been alarming. You can’t stroll into a champions league final with so many changes each week. The rhythm was lost.

Hear me out...the winning run and team selection was almost forced upon him. His genius rose with the change in position for Gundo, Phil and Cancelo. Bernardo also shown. The defence has settled and looked solid. We looked unbeatable. Kev came back and we changed the system.

Now you have to accommodate Kev but the point I am making is that Pep found a winning formula with less players to choose from. Same with Sergio being injured it forced us to use the false 9. We need to trim the squad and buy 2/3 starters, draft in the academy players to make up the numbers and move away from having 2 big names players for each position.

The defensive changes also disrupted our flow. Laporte came in because he is a big name not due to form. Cancelo had to be given games at lb so Zin suffered.

The counter argument will be that we would not have made it this far without a quality squad. On tonight’s display and the subsequent displays since the united game suggest otherwise. Dortmund and PSG was fantastic but we got bit of luck on the latter.

Reduce the squad and buy top quality. It’s not Fifa. Quality over quantity IMO.

It’ll probably go down as the least enjoyable of our title winning seasons of the last ten years, for obvious reasons

it was a strange season, one minute we were 8th and had been written off by everyone and a few weeks later we were odds on favorites and top of the table. The league was over by the end of January

has had its negatives though and I’m glad it’s over. It’s draining at times

Tonight was a major disappointment and one that’ll hurt for a while

This defeat needs to be seen in the context of the season as a whole. We won a double and we are champions of England. And we were closer to winning the CL than at any time in the history of the competition. I hate that we lost but don’t let the 90 minutes played today define our entire season. That would be madness.

Agree with this, our biggest issue is we don’t know our best XI or at least Pep doesn’t.

It’s hard to criticise the rotation when you see what we have won over the last 5 years. We wouldn’t have won the title this year if we were unable to rotate.

But now I really do believe we need to have an XI that is our best XI followed by 7/8 squad players and our academy players.

I don’t think we can win the Champions League having such a big squad full of quality players.

We were 90 minutes and a couple of goals away from doing the very thing you say we can't do.

I agree with most of that, however I still think its been an amazing season. Pissed off about tonight though.
