Thats what i was thinking. What time of day / night was it?
Always got my kids to learn how to swim as early as possible. Such a waste of three lives and their family must just be.... beyond words really.

Used to work with a guy who couldn’t swim, who drowned in the sea when he was playing around with a ball at waist high, lost his footing and the current and sheer panic did for him. 42. Fucking horrible funeral.
Just said on the news none of them could swim. Utterly tragic.
Was no-one else around or something.
Apparently not, it is one of those complex's where there are several small pools dotted around, also as a result no life guard or similar.

A friend of mine drowned on holiday in thailand,that was in the sea though,he hadn't gone out far,he hadn't had a stroke or heart attack or anything,he was a good swimmer,sometimes there is no reason for these things,it's incredibly bad luck that even if they couldn't swim that they couldnt get to the shallow end

From the news it seems they were all non-swimmers. As others have said, add shock/panic to the mix and things go wrong quickly.Struggling to see how the father couldn't reach the surface for air unless he knocked himself unconscious when jumping in.

It was just on sky news, the mother speaks out (although it didn’t show her). She says they could ALL swim. She says the girl was “sucked” into the centre of the pool, then the brother, then the dad. Then they were all “sucked” underwater. She ran off to get help. When she returned they were all dead.
