Can't believe The Chameleons didn't make it, saw them on Middleton Civic Hall and The International and they were brilliant. The singer Mark Burgess is a massive blue and used to work in the ticket office at Maine Rd!

Agree with a previous poster,Christy Dignam is a great songwriter.

A band from Wigan, their début album "Before the Calm" is probably my all time fave. Think a less melodramatic Verve mixed with Elbow and a dash of "Bends" era Radiohead.

I've talked myself into a listen now - calming stuff before the punkabilly fury of the derby!
