Bluebird, only in bottles near me and then only from the supermarket.

Why do most pubs in the manchester area just cater for those with no tastebuds? Serving up carling, fosters, becks, blah, blah, bl.....
Some other good ones from this brewery near Ulverston, which is the birthplace of Stan Laurel hence the beers are all Laurel and Hardy related. Lonesome Pine and Laughing Gravy are two good ones.

I think i might have to take a trip to Ulverston to sample a few of these, Laughing Gravy sounds good. I've not been up that way for a couple of years.
Will i find these in the Farmers or the Rose and Crown.

The Fairfield Arms in Audenshaw had some beers on from this brewery recently, <a class="postlink" href="http://www.hornbeambrewery.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">www.hornbeambrewery.com</a> and its not far from the ground.

I had a nice pint of real ale in the Pineapple in Stockport yesterday but cant remember what it was called. Something to do with the Lake district?
Im a big fan of real ales and have tried literally hundreds but anything by Youngs, Shepard Neame, Black Sheep, Theakstons will do for me.
The best two Ive ever tasted but never been able to find since are Banana bread beer and Youngs Christmas Pudding ale. Sublime, and not what you would imagine.
Beamish pisses all over Guiness in my opinion. I dont mind the occasional lager but they all taste the same and you constantly need a piss.

^^this is a quality ale, my personal fav's are Wichcraft by the same people who brew Hobgoblin, Landlord Pale Ale and Manchester Bitter in the Marble Arch. Oh yeah nearly forgot Phoenix Brewery's Wobbly Bob is quality as is Pride of Pendle from that Brewery in the Burnley/Pendle area.

Living in Australia you would think you would I would be spoilt for choice in quality beers, perfect climate for lager.
But you would be wrong it's bland, tasteless and over cold, and before you fire back whinging pom I have nothing else to complain about.
It's just that german and czech beer piss all over the domestic beers and in winter I would kill for a joeys.
Mind you don't miss grunhalle at Maine road one bit,or wilsons bitter.

You'll find where it's on sale on the 'where to buy link' at the top of the page.

Real ale. Different ones every time. Why stick to the same thing when there are thousands out there to try? My favourite styles at the moment are best bitters and brown ales. I generally like anything malty. But I am partial to a smooth too. You don't see mild around enough these days, it is out of fashion because the lighter ales like the IPA are best for attracting new customers and women.

It's always a risk, I've had some classics and some stinkers. (p)Arson was probably the most memorable. Microbrewed one batch only stuff is best. Of regular drinks I do drink Boddies like it is water and Hydes is good stuff too.

Lager-wise I don't like anything too gassy. Cobra is always a good choice.
