I am lucky beyond belief that my local-though it is 4 miles away-carries only beers from micro breweries so my favourite does tend to change. It also has a policy of selling one session beer less than 4% abv, one best ale around 4.3-4.7%, one strong ale 5% up, and one dark ale-can be anything from a 3.2% mild to a 6% and up stout or porter. Also the house vegan ale plus farmhouse cider or perry.
Very favourite beers are Thornbridge Jaipur IPA, Abbeydale Black Mass-abv 6.66%!, Elland 1872 Porter-and most ales from Pictish in Rochdale, Phoenix in Heywood, Dark Star near Brighton-the list goes on. If you've never had proper beer you don't know what you're missing-as Benjamin Franklin said, 'Beer is the proof that God loves us.'
sorry mate you havent a clue, you really havent. if guiness was as good as its adverts............but it aint. and whats creamy got to do with flavour? have you ever tried any real stout? not the irish pasturised pissoakiecokie said:NO CONTEST !!
The finest, when kept in good nick has to be a lovely cold pint of Guinness.
Gives you the craps next day,but what a pint, with that nice creamy top all the way down to the last mouthful.
Bloody hell, better than anything CAMRA can offer, apart from traditional UK Ciders !!!!!!!!!!!!
Coniston Bluebird, Im sure thats the one I had in the Pinapple in Stockport on tuesday. Great glug ;O) I knew it had something to do with the Lake district.jollycity said:Too many real ales to mention but Coniston Bluebird and Hawkshead Gold are good.
If it has to be lager then bottles of Belgian stuff, Leffe and Duvel are good.
Don't argue with me cos I'm 45 and and have been swilling loads of beer since I was 15 so there !! lol
