Because there is no need to declare a player injured to bring up another to fill his place in the squad. We simply name someone from the EDS or academy to the bench for the match(es).

Yes different systems negate that benefit/need. I shouldn’t say I don’t get it - just I find it annoying. the clarity around who is injured and what is injured is nice!
