I knew the Clapton version before I found out that Marley wrote it.

I clearly remember Slowhand's version in the charts.
I can't say I've heard Claptons version. I had the Live at the Lyceum album and was a Marley fan ever since. It is one of those albums that is iconic and a true classic.
'And this, I wanna tell you, is a Trenchtown experience, all the way from Jamaica.... Bob Marley and the Wailers come on'

Quick pop quiz. What was the name of Marleys backing singers ?

The backing singers.

Everyone says 'The Wailers' it's not. The backing singers are the 'I Threes' and yes he later married Rita.

The Wailers name comes from one of the founders of the group Bunny Wailer.

I'm just trying to redeem some pride after believing the shite internet and thinking Clapton wrote I Shot the Sheriff :-)

And Peter Tosh was another of The Wailers .

I heard Clapton's version on Boom Radio the other day.

You don’t know what you’re missing.

It’s brilliant.
I concur 100% with you there pal.
Me and the wife have it playing on our Alexa speaker every morning.
And it's also the only radio station that I have tuned in automatically on my car radio.
It plays ( in the main) our kind of music.
And as we are both baby boomers,it's why we like Boom Radio.

Since Mrs Vienna died, I hardly watch any TV; I have Boom on from the time I get up to the time I go to bed, unless City are playing.

I like all the DJs, but Nicky Horne is my favourite. I love the little anecdotes about some of the tracks he plays.

We like David Lloyd and "Diddy" David Hamilton, and a special mention for Jenny Hanley,as I have her as a Facebook friend and have messaged her a couple of times in the past.

I enjoy both Davids.

Top Five is a great feature, as is My First Car.

And despite being well into his 80s, "Diddy" still has it.
