Manchester council will today approve / deny FCUM's request to lift the ban on playing home games the same day City do.

Also

And in other news...... disgraced / shamed / incompetent (delete / add as applicable) FCUM General manager has rolled up with a new job at the FSF.... http://www.fsf.org.uk/latest-news/view/fsf-appoints-new-national-game-officer

No way on this earth should they be allowed to play at home on the same day as us. Its just asking for trouble.

Was there not something set in stone that due to us improving the area and Fuck 'em's ground being within a couple of miles that they will never play on our match day?

Yes you are correct as part of their planning application that was granted there were conditions and one was that they couldn't play on the same day that City were playing at home but their trying to get that overuled and changed.
I think their trying to now argue that it's restricing them and costing them revenue by having to change the days of their home games when it clashes with City being at home.

Isn't the counterargument that that was predictable when they applied?

I think their argument is that the condition was imposed when they originally were going to have the stadium on Ten Acres Lane but wasn't thought about being changed when the ground then shifted further away from Eastlands to Moston.

Either way be surprised if the police don't object as now the club attract a larger away following as they have gone higher up the leagues.

The ref is 113376/JO/2016 there are no comments or objections from anyone so on the face of it, it is likely to have sailed through given the transport plan information they commissioned and submitted.
