FC United thread

The sanctimonious pricks are at it again, “Recent attendances at these rearranged games have been lower than we’d hoped, and we get why. Supporters are spent up, partied out, and the weather hasn’t been kind.” The same “spent up supporters” have chucked over £21k in the last pass of the buckets but the spent up supporters need to chuck another £9k in. As if that wasn’t enough the club in hock for millions due to the charitable nature of our council goes on to say “This club isn’t backed by big money or wealthy owners—it’s powered by us. Every supporter, every volunteer, every co-owner. Together, we’ve built something unique.

Breaking through £20,000 shows what we can do. Now let’s finish what we’ve started. With your help, we’ll smash the £30,000 target and make sure FC United comes out of this winter stronger than ever.

Because that’s what FC United is about. It’s not just a club; it’s a movement, a family, and a beacon for what football should be.

Donate today.

Let’s prove—once again—that together, we’re unstoppable.”

Its like a cult, do they really believe their financial mess & lack of progress on the pitch is a beacon of what football should be?

They really do have no self awareness.

They’re on a good run of form to be fair, if they hadn’t had such a shit start to the year this would be a play off push.
A bit bored today as not in work (thanks to Martin Luther King having his birthday today!) so checked the league table out.
They are 9th which is impressive - however, the league position and points gained don't paint the whole picture.
All the teams below them have either 2, 3, 4 and even 6 games in hand over the Bucketeers.
Should each of those teams below win every game (very unlikely I know) the Pallet Parkers would be 4th from bottom.
Equally every team above them (bar Macclesfield who are runaway leaders) have 2 or 3 games in hand so they are in a very false position currently

They’re on a good run of form to be fair, if they hadn’t had such a shit start to the year this would be a play off push. You’d think their fans would be happy but they’re staying away from games, Saturday afternoon with no united game to distract the locals and the visiting hordes of Scandinavian & Irish reds in town to watch the mighty Brighton today being sure to rush down to pallet park for a tour before the game yet only 1604 given as yesterday’s crowd, but the number actually there will be less.

In addition to one of their fans creating the critical spoof Bluesky account which they had to close down yesterday here’s board busybody Paul explaining why the manager from Liverpool stormed off during the after match interview as one of their fans was singing about scousers, something their fans have done for 20 years
Phew !!!
Thankfully the FC Splitters must now only sing abusive songs about Merseyside.
Glad they've given up their endless childish tirades against City, Leeds & Wio.
Regarding the postponed/rearranged match collections.
They have played 28 games (not checked how many have been at home, though), which is the joint highest games played in their League.
God help the really small clubs like Morpeth etc who have played 2 or 3 games less and have a much further distance to travel.
FCUM are geographically well positioned for travelling distances - but they cannot be grateful for this, as they (how many officials get freebies ?) are in this fecking Fenix Trophy, jetting off to Albania or Azerbaijan...

Great minds think alike !
Just read your reply - apologies, I've mentioned similar...

But but but they had lots and lots of games cancelled so how could they be 2-6 ahead of other teams ?
It does make you wonder how those teams can survive financially if the splitters had to get the begging buckets out.

Or perhaps the others are just run properly, I guess we'll never know.

I'm confused, how can they be moaning about games being called off when they've played more games than anyone else....unless the pallet pitch is shite and they've played loads of away games.

The two faced, lying thieving bastards.
Okay MCC isn’t the richest local authority but, to completely choose to ‘overlook’ the theft of the best part of a £1 million of council tax payers hard earned on an outrageous vanity project/heist - criminal.
Why aren’t questions being asked? How far up does the corruption go?
This whole shit show must have had more back handers than the average rag wag.
Stealing a living? They’ve turned it into an art form.

Others will know a lot more than myself about the FCUM ground being set up at Moston.
But no doubt the club/vanity project will have played up to the MCC hierarchy & Councillors about a dubious MUFC linked club "coming home" to Manchester ?

But, how come Manchester City Council is struggling so much ?
Surely in the last decade, tens of thousands of extra residents have entered the City, paying a high rate of Council Tax ?
What new schools or facilities have been built as new costs ?

Plus the council get 2 or 3 million extra from the deal with City and the stadium.
Maybe a separate thread in the politics forum!

The shameless bastards went on about missing matches & then their very next tweet was what a busy couple of months of home games they’re having

Here’s a good summary from current board member Nick, he does a good stock in arguing with any other co-owners who dare ask any critical questions about why their finances & budget are clearly lunacy.

This sums up why the council had to give them a two year interest holiday on a loan which was intended to be repayed in full last year as well as provide extra capital & senior staff members to sit on their board on top of all the grants & other preferential help they’ve received over the years. Read this in conjunction with the news on council cut backs & your impending rising council tax bill & wonder how they get away with it

I wonder how much land rent (or whatever it is called) Abbey Hey, Chorlton & West Didsbury and the two Wythenshawe teams have to pay MCC each year?
Maine Road don’t own their ground but I’m sure they will be paying the Manchester FA something towards the cost.
How must they all feel knowing not only have the council bankrolled the Splitters, but they have also been given a 125 year lease on the land for FREE.
It’s all take, take, from this club and they give nothing back in exchange.

Another cut back made MCC

Sacha Lord issues statement after £400k grant withdrawn as he steps back from Andy Burnham's team

Primary Event Solutions, where he was a director, received a grant of more than £400,000 from the Culture Recovery Fund, administered by the Arts Council during the pandemic. The government-funded cultural development agency and charity said today it is now "seeking to recover this money", however.

How the Fuck does FCUM still keep plodding on when running on losses ? MCC should be looking to recover the money from them and take back the stadium

I think - but happy to be corrected - that the money loaned to the Bucketeers comes from reserve money rather than from money from the same purse as that funding day to day services. Which still doesn't change the fact that it's still a shit show by MCC and of course in hard times, isn't money in the reserves meant to cover a rainy day or two?

Take back the stadium, flatten it and turn it into an overspill car park for The Etihad, with shuttle buses to get everyone to and from the City game.
Simples !!

Met that sacha a few times through work. A bellend of the highest order...and a rag to boot.
