FC United thread

Nine days ago I sent this email off to the board at The Moston Rag Socks - can't believe after 9 day's they haven't given me the courtesy of a reply!

Question for the board,
I see once again our board members are appealing for fans to continue to dig deep to aid the 'Missing Games' fund and once more issue the statement that our club is not 'bankrolled by big money or wealthy owners - it's powered by us.'
How long are we going to kid ourselves that this is the case?
We may not have a wealthy individual benefactor bankrolling the club, but we have to also ask ourselves how many other clubs in our league and above have external funding via their local Council to the extent we have had?
If it wasn't for the MCC funding, then FC would have folded by now. I just think we should be more honest and open with all of our fans and on club statements and stop the pretence that it is solely down to the extremely hard work of a small number of our fans that our club is still functioning.

I was at the game on Saturday v Blyth Spartans and dug deep once again putting money into the bucket and will continue to do so. Let's hope that soon the club's fortunes will improve greatly both on and off the field and the club will continue to move forward in a positive light.

Yours sincerely

Holly Fuck NOoooooo

Andy Burnham has been handed £630m, now he has to to decide how to spend it

Andy Burnham will get a £630m budget to spend how he likes, the government has announced.

The Greater Manchester mayor has described the deal which gives him more flexibility over funding as 'game-changing'. The new model of funding was agreed by the last Conservative government in 2023 as part of the latest devolution deal for the city-region.

I don’t think that’s anywhere near enough to refurbish the swamp, let alone build a new one. Burnham is too politically shrewd to use that money for the rags.

Mr P Park lol
Can't for the life of me imagine why they didn't reply.....

Scruffy 90th minute equaliser v at home to Hyde United (1-1) in front of 2010. Must have been a fair few Tigers there. I bet the board are still counting the cash in the buckets (one for me, one for you, one for you......)
And declaring the 50% on their tax return of course.

He said with a wry smile on his face.

I heard they contacted Scruffy Jim about both clubs sharing buckets to keep costs down for when Scruffy Jim starts begging to the government
Aren't the buckets shared due to the Trafford Tramps needing them to catch the water from their various stands, leaking water ?
Perhaps Generous Jim will lend the splitters some of his staff, before he sacks them.
Would imagine that Scruffy Jim is hoping for another "furlong subsidy", which I'm sure he has exploited in the past...

I hope that’s not Jess' dad!

Yes, and that money can be used to pay back the money that they owe to MCC.
Only if they are allowed to ‘audit’ the proceeds through their own books first.

“Sorry Mr Councillors only three cars turned up and two of those had blue badges. We’ve had to take administrative costs from the remainder so here’s 85p in 1 & 2 pence pieces. See you next week.”

Excellent post. Many a true word is spoken in jest and all that.

Well the latest hissy fits from the clowns over at Pallet Park…Some of their fans think they should lobby the authorities and get the rules of football changed worldwide as Hyde ruined the game by winning the toss and getting them to switch ends for kick off.

The board have fallen out with some of their Communications volunteers as they haven’t promoted the missing matches bucket shake enough, despite raising over £22 grand in donations & having 6 home games between Boxing Day and the 1st of February they only just managed to scrape together January’s wages at the end of the month.

Those communications volunteers haven’t been quick enough, now the deluded board & manager tell them to push out a message and rattle the buckets they must now send out a message across at least ten different platforms within twelve hours despite all having actual jobs & lives to get on with

To quote Robert Smith & The Cure
“Whatever I do, it’s never enough”

I have this dilemma which involves them I’m sad to say. I’m a bit of a ground hopper and I now have 3 grounds in Greater Manchester to complete… Curzon Ashton, Stalybridge Celtic and this lot. I can’t bring myself to sit/stand with these gimps and the idea of handing over my hard earned cash really rankles, would it be semi acceptable to go in the away end yet giving them cash, I’m kind of hoping that away fans would get the receipts from their end bearing in mind how right-on and ethical the ‘sussed and sorted’ adidas samba wearing ‘socialists’ at pallet park are but I somehow doubt this. It’s a quandary to put it mildly.
