FC United thread

They went on to talk about the plight of Widnes who’ve had to drop out of their league & suggest that sustainability rules need to be brought into non league football.

They think sustainable well run clubs like themselves should be handed a competitive advantage. Overlooking that they’ve been handed a competitive advantage for the last twenty years when they haven’t been sustainable and without the charity/stupidity of Manchester council they’d have gone the same way as Widnes
Don't forget the "transparency" that the Splitters have admirably adhered to throughout their existence.
Remarkably, the media ignores the huge debt to Manchester City Council and the inability to pay it back.
These teflon twats seem to have the same media protection and positive spin that the Trafford Tramps receive...

The board have released another monthly set of documents and they’re as ridiculous, pompous & inconsistent as usual.

For instance “protecting the traditional 3pm Saturday match day experience is a core principle for the club and we will not compromise on this for the sake of extra income”

Sounds grand doesn’t it, but then you remember that Exeter said that they’d come and play for free without sharing the gate but could the match kick off at 2 on a Saturday? The splitters instantly say yes, despite the clubs core principle & didn’t bother protecting the traditional 3pm Saturday “match day experience”
Again a complete lack of self awareness.
"The match will mark our 20th anniversary and will serve as a celebration as to what fan owned football can achieve".

No mention at all as to what they have been able to achieve with a million pound gift from a sugar daddy. No doubt they will make a big thing about this being their 20th anniversary v Exeter and the ever willing media will blow more smoke up their arses and call them "Rebels" and "Punk Football" but won't be scratching below the surface to see what a complete shambles this big rag tribute act really is.

HA HA HA HA HA
How can they keep a straight face and declare that their club is run responsibly and sustainably?

So now they have lost a home game with Widnes resigning........
I can hear the discussion taking place right now..... "The Missing Widnes Game Bucket Shake"

What happens say the Glazers sold up, would they split (AGAIN)

The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Apparently they've just signed journey man Andre Wisdom, aged 32(probably not a wise move) Think they'd he better off with Norman. But how come they're still spending whilst owing best part of a million to MCC ? Vile set of bastards! Wisdom might find out in due course, that getting paid his bonuses is like pulling teeth. CUNTS!

I see what you did there!

So they want to find another local education provider to set up and be ready to go having recruited enough kids to start at pallet park by September after the previous partner finally had enough of all the lies that FC had been telling them about their popularity and the number of kids that were going to turn up.

The reason they’re so pissed off about a company exercising the three month notice period that they agreed to is not because they’re concerned about the welfare of local students or the damage this has done to their already piss poor reputation in Moston but because they need to raise £125,000 profit next year just to stand still. Heres the budget for next year, they expected the academy to make nearly £64k of that profit with very little work from themselves.

So they didn’t manage to get another Academy provider to open in September & there’ll be no Academy in Pallet Park this year.

They’re scrabbling round to try and make to the £64k of profit they forecast and also trying to keep the Academy sponsor sweet

Shambolic as ever. I love it how the Rag Socks demand answers from SCL and are simply ignored.
They talk of a "local education provider" they are in talks with - so that will be City College again. Utter fools to get involved with this shower.

Good call on City college, they’re trying to jump back into bed with them.

Oh come on!

They have to repay the MCC loans somehow.

Or not, as the case may be.

Actually the financial picture has brightened up a lot in the short term. They’ll have been able to pay the 35k that was due by the end of June. They look like finishing the year on a profit of £69.3k which sounds great but that includes £35k from the sale of Linney (no other sell on clauses anytime soon) £53k in one off donation & the proceeds from the legends game

I’d have bigger concerns if I was them though about making the £125k profit they need for the year beginning in July. Remember they’ll need to pay off the council £6,250 every month.

Season tickets went on sale three months before they did last year, sales are slower.

The academy is scrapped losing them the projected 63k.

Those bastards at Widnes selfishly went bust losing the saviours of football at pallet park a home game.

The new kit launch has gone so badly that only 2 of the 3 (three) new kits that they’re launching for this single season has gone ahead so far*

So don’t think they’re out of the woods or the council will have their mobey back anytime soon.

*thats always an interesting debate the sale of three kits a year doesn’t make as much as they’d expect so rather than think we’re a struggling non league team and probably shouldn’t expect our fans to but 3 new shirts every year they instead blame themselves for voting for boring designs and say they should vote for something more gimmicky that would appeal to a mass market

Can’t imagine much coming his way in the shape of bonuses

I’d liken a contract with these to be akin to some salesman’s options

Sign for a lower basic with good OTE through bonuses

Or

Go for a average basic pay

You’d have to take the latter
