It appears they have run out of money. They have had to use an overdraft facility until the end of May, as they have cash flow issues.
They have one final home game on Saturday and after that no source of income from the football side of things to help the club tick over until the season starts again - except for early season ticket sales (meaning borrowing money on future season ticket sales, so that when the season starts, they will be relying on cash at the turnstiles to survive).
There are other revenue sources from hiring the stadium and facilities but as stated above they are way, way behind on budget.
It is also worth noting the club earned 120K from their FA Cup run this season that was NOT budgeted for and yet are still in financial difficulties.
David Conn must still be working on his investigative feature on the mismanagement of his golden apple......
The white elephant that local Moston residents (myself included) feared at the time of planning permission being sought is happening way much quicker than expected. If it happens I hope Richard Lease and Mayor Murphy (local councillor) do the honourable thing and resign.
I'd love to see the full figure on how much money has been given to the club by MCC.
