FC United thread

Conn's silence is fucking shameful.
It also devalues any future articles he researches and produces.
In a few weeks / months time when he comes out naming and shaming dodgy chairman / owners / bad practices everyone will ask him if he has just woken up from a coma.
Of course, if he goes further to cream his pants over supporter ownership of clubs - then his game is well and truly up.

How he can be taken seriously after this is beyond me, which is a shame really after the name he rightly made for himself as a credible sports journalist

What do they say about rats

From their website at 15:15 today. Soon there will be nobody left.

FC United fundraiser role

submit to reddit

The club has been informed by Andy Walker that he is no longer in a position to continue his role as Fundraiser for FC United beyond the end of April 2016.

We would like to thank Andy for his efforts in the role since December 2014.

A club set up in protest at the malignant financial wizardry of the Glazers turns out to be run at a loss by a bunch of charlatans. Fantastic!

It appears they have run out of money. They have had to use an overdraft facility until the end of May, as they have cash flow issues.
They have one final home game on Saturday and after that no source of income from the football side of things to help the club tick over until the season starts again - except for early season ticket sales (meaning borrowing money on future season ticket sales, so that when the season starts, they will be relying on cash at the turnstiles to survive).
There are other revenue sources from hiring the stadium and facilities but as stated above they are way, way behind on budget.
It is also worth noting the club earned 120K from their FA Cup run this season that was NOT budgeted for and yet are still in financial difficulties.
David Conn must still be working on his investigative feature on the mismanagement of his golden apple......

The white elephant that local Moston residents (myself included) feared at the time of planning permission being sought is happening way much quicker than expected. If it happens I hope Richard Lease and Mayor Murphy (local councillor) do the honourable thing and resign.
I'd love to see the full figure on how much money has been given to the club by MCC.

I'm hoping the council completed a very indepth look at the club's finances, including realistic future income, before the ground deal was done. I've no doubt it was all above board.

I recall a pamphlet or some form of media propaganda being circulated, all financial figures based on the stadium being fully utilized from 8am to midnight every day, weddings and birthday parties every weekend etc etc etc. It was like north Manchester had no other venue to hold any of these events anywhere else.... we were told it was just what ''the community'' needed (we were never asked) and that the stadium would be ''good for Moston'' (we kept replying that it would be ''good for FCUoM'').... the stadium was going to save Moston from oblivion.... Moston was going to the new utopia... a model community project that could be copied and delivered anywhere else (as long as the council or other funding sources carried on stumping up tax payers money for community projects). The new world order was beckoning......
Yet it appears that those planning this new world order were just on the take and providing jobs for their mates or making it financially beneficial to their own businesses.... people who appeared great at spending other peoples money - and got away with it for 11 years.

Well I think we should have a collection for them at the Arsenal match, all it takes is for a few poeple at the end of each row to collect a bucket that is passed around, how much piss does a bucket hold by the way ?
