Yeah possibly. It's that lovely cut-away where you put your hip.
Strats are still the best design overall.
Still the biggest selling guitar in the world, and the most copied.

I'm relatively new. Started making slow progress. I think the main emphasis is on practice even just 5 mins a day. I can play chords but its trying to change chords swiftly which is the hard part for me. I'll see if I can dig it out but an American guy on you tube, said put the Pick down and visualise the chord shapes and get it etched into you head and you start playing subconsciously. Got my eye on a Takamine G30 12 string acoustic, looks good for $499 delivered on fleabay. They are probably the most versatile but for some reason I have always warmed towards others (possibly because of their popularity?).

I have been sh1te picking up my guitars for years but for some reason this thread has gripped me.........
I think the precision bass is probably the best example of the never improved design re your op. Seems to attract less need to tinker with and upgrade than the jazz bass or the six strings.Got my eye on a Takamine G30 12 string acoustic, looks good for $499 delivered on fleabay.
