Fender guitars.

Yes, quite possibly.
Extremely popular Bass. On more records than any other Bass.
Yep, I suppose this thread must strike most as guitar geekery, but pretty much anyone born between 1950-80(ish) can probably tell a tele from a strat and a J from a P bass sound even if they don't know what to call them.

Apparently Fender have had their best sales ever this year.
Lockdown is great for guitar sales.

Leo designed his guitars in the 50s and they've never been improved upon.

How many products can you say that about ?

Long time player, but bought a couple of Fenders since been working from home..... A strat that was about £125 quid that plays great and a classical for about £110 which is very nice.... Incredible value really for what you're getting.

I bought a couple of ukes as well over last few months, had never played them before but since had a bit more time on my hands thought I'd give it a go and love the sound and portability.
Had to check portability meant what I thought it meant

I'm relatively new. Started making slow progress. I think the main emphasis is on practice even just 5 mins a day. I can play chords but its trying to change chords swiftly which is the hard part for me. I'll see if I can dig it out but an American guy on you tube, said put the Pick down and visualise the chord shapes and get it etched into you head and you start playing subconsciously. This has helped me along with the Fender app I paid for
Cheers mate, it's a lot harder than I imagined when I started

You fool :)
I know.. it never felt comfortable but, wow, the tone. I got done in a shop in Bleeker Street in NY. I put a deposit down on a 1962 tele with a bigsby. Was supposed to be $4000 Went back to pay the balance on my last day before heading to the airport and there was an extra $1500 on the receipt which they told me was city tax. The refused me my deposit back, I asked could I leave the deposit and come back in a couple of months and pay the balance and they told me I had 10 days from leaving the deposit to pay the balance or I’d lose the lot. I was just a kid at the time and with a couple of hours to go before my flight I was so pissed at them. I had saved for about 2 years before going so I could get myself some vintage high end guitars. So I came home with a strat that I never really wanted. One of the nicest sounding guitars I’ve owned but I could never connect with it properly after the way the fucked me.
Got a lovely Rickenbacker 330 that trip too, saw it on the 2nd day, took it home for $700. The exchange rate was really good at the time. Sold that one too, also to pay the rent. Gah

Nice action - I was hoping to go and play a few this afternoon but never panned out.......
$500 seems a little pricey for a second hand G series. Hold out and look around, people will be selling off bits the longer this COVID shite goes on. G series takamine are going for around €200-250 second hand in Dublin. Make sure you have a good look at any fretwear if you’re going second hand
