Ferdinand stamp on Torres?

Forget the agenda stuff for a mo, (I actually think Ferdinand should have been handed a retrospective ban), just look at it what it is, replace Ferdinant with Kompany and the same thing happens. Would you think a ban is deserved or would it be harsh?

Agree with you Pidge...I mentioned it way earlier in the thread that the Gerrard Elbow to the back of Bales head was IMO a much worse challenge.

Would you really expect Kompany to do something similar? No because he's not a childish prick. But if he was, and he did something similar, then I wouldn't be surprised if the FA punished him in some way. I would then blame the player for being a knob and getting himself a ban for no reason other than being a petulant twat!

But you keep telling us there's no agenda?

;-)
There is no agenda. Webb is wrong on this one, that's about it.

Pidge what we think is irrelevant, nobody thought that kompany should have got a ban, nobody thought that balotelli or adebayor should have got a ban but they still got them, now at the behest of the FA and Howard Webb ferdinand has escaped a ban and why should he when other players who do v little worse will still get a ban?
If you're talking about the stamp on Parker re Balotelli, well a ban was definitely needed, and I know from this forum alone i'm not the only one who thinks that.
Webb has fucked up here, there's no two ways about it but my question still stands. Was it that bad that if it was a Blue, you'd thin a ban was right?

This shit happens way to much to keep saying its just a bad calls.

Yes he would deserve a ban, don't think what Ferdinand did was anything other than a push and a trip (which is still stupid), but it's still violent conduct, SWP got a retrospective ban against Stoke once for flicking a toe out, don't know if anyone remembers that one ?

Incidently, just reading Graham Poll's book, only into the first few chapters but already he's commenting on the F.A being a bunch of spineless shit-houses, seems things don't change much around there.

Pidge, I stand to be corrected here, but this had nothing to do with Webb. The decision to do nothing wasn't his to make.
I'd like to see any actual quotes from the authorities on this.

Howard Webb, the referee, had his back turned when Ferdinand appeared to push and trip Torres but it is thought there was not enough video footage to make a definitive judgment.

I'd ban the cnut for being a cowardly, spineless shithouse. I mean what sort of a man pushes someone from behind when they are not looking.

One thing that's for sure is that governing bodies are not being consistent with their decisions. Camel god should have been banned for clapping in the refs face the other night as we have all seen players get sent off for it in the past.

As for the shove on Torres, isn't the key word intent? And he clearly meant to shove him so technically in the laws of the game it should be violent conduct but I still think the best solution would have been Torres growing a pair and slapping the coke head all over the pitch.

Totally deliberate. It would have been easy for Ferdinand to run past Torres as the play was moving up filed but he deliberately runs into him and there is a small rake down the back of the heel. If you watch closely he then appears to berate Torres, as if he has dived.
He was in my opinion attempting to get Torres sent off.

Complete,total and utter twat.

This.

The follow on from the incident where he grabbed Torres to pick him up asap before he could make a meal of it or get noticed.

Shitehouse wanabee gangster who'd shit himself walking through Hale let alone Wythenshawe.
