I like that City are doing things early. Still not convinced they are both worth that money. But we are not gonna know that till new season starts

To be fair we really don't know what the fee's are, the press are just making it up as they go along

Re: Fernandinho has medical

Bossed Chelsea in the CL and a good fit for us and addresses some weaknesses.

Starting to get very excited about the new season now.

Hows Navas the 'Spanish Aaran Lennon' when he gets in the Spain squad and Lennon never plays for England? Plus we don't have anyone whos as fast as Lennon so its deffinatley an upgrade from Johnson and Sinclair.

Bitter idiots at it again!

Not to mention Lennon is simply a pace merchant with a 10 cent head who creates nothing but sweat while Navas was the leading chance creator on his team who can pick a pass from the wing...

Re: Fernandinho has medical

I'll probably get slaughtered for saying this and not towing the party line which seems to be whenever we are linked to somebody or buy somebody then everyone raves about how they are going to propel us to bigger and better things. Now I'll be the first to admit I don't know that much about players outside of England these days, largely due to a combination of my age, my lifestyle and the fact I generally can't be arsed studying players whose names I'd struggle to find in the countdown conundrum but none of the buy's so far really actually get me 'THAT' excited. Yes I can't wait for the season to start and yes it's stating the bleeding obvious that they must be good players but are they really the best available we could realistically sign. I'm sure everybody will tell me yes they are - but -and it's only a hesitant 'but' -I'll reserve any judgements until December and the end of the year.

Silva? Kun?

Re: Fernandinho has medical

Is anyone else unsure about the age of our signings? whilst they are certainly not old and have a good 5/6 years left in them I do prefer it when we go for younger players!

You won't get slaughtered by me mate as that's exactly how I think about it all. I am far too lazy to be bothered watching overseas footie to know how good a player is.

Like you, I'll reserve judgement about the buys once I take my seat at the start of the new season and see how it pans out.

Silva? Kun?

I would like to think I could find Silva or Kun in a countdown conundrum.

I may struggle with Zabaleta or Nastasic though.

Re: Fernandinho has medical

Don't know too much about him, so just had a quick google and surprised to read he's only made 184 appearances in 8 years for Shakhtar (misread on wikipedia .... 184 is league only, its 280 in all competitions ... so not bad) and suffered a broken leg, added to the fact he's 28 I have a couple of reservations.

But the guys in charge know what they're doing so in them I trust, hope he's a huge success.

Garcia, Kolarov and even Dzeko is debatable so far in the English game.

Same goes for me, although I have heard good reviews about these two from people who do follow European football. Youtube videos are misleading so we will have to trust that the powers that be, know what they are doing. One thing was obvious from last season though, and that is that we needed a good wide player and a more mobile defensive midfielder. We have hopefully got them now. Now for someone with the killer instinct in front of goal and roll on august.

I know what he means I don't follow European football, however I have faith in the powers that be, and they are signing players that most of us have said we needed for a long time, time will tell

Re: Fernandinho has medical

Feels great to tie up two big signings early on rather than arsing about until it's already near the start of the season.

Re: Fernandinho has medical

Maybe "Management" have learned something from Mancini who always wanted transfers early so they could participate fully in pre season training, maybe wrongs are being righted on all fronts to make us sucessful again.
