He is a good player he will be worth it in the long run he is an upgrade to Barry, Garcia and Rodwell and will provide a solid foundation while allowing the likes of Toure and Silva to flourish. The money is steep but City can afford it so I see no problem with it.

It's worth bearing in mind Shakhtar are an oil rich club with fuck all obligation to sell players they have on long contracts. They have a far better recent European history than us and are genuinely one of the top teams in Europe even if they play in the Russian league. All the histrionics about what he's costing are well misplaced.

we don't have a 'board' who do transfers in the old time traditional sense
we have modernised on the European model and have a Director of Football who is responsible for all things football at the club

I honestly don't see any part of a WUM in my post:
We have paid what is a relatively high transfer fee for 28 yo player. He has never played in the premiership - hence currently unproven. We will only know if he's any good in 12 months time at which he will be pushing 30 yo - hence no resale value. Therefore I hope we have got this one right? That's about it really.

However, I do understand that any single word from anyone that even begins to remotely question any actions or utterances from our new Management Team is now seen as dissent and 'off message' and slapped down RAWK style pretty quickly these days though.
