Looking the real deal now. Taken time to adjust, but he's a clever lad in such a short time he can now speak English and more importantly he's adapted to the premier League. He will become an all time great of that I'm sure. Only my opinion of course.

I don't think he's properly fluent, but he's been doing his fair bit when interviewed for the website.

He's a class act and a vital player for City, he's a joy to watch and it's nice to see him settled.

The first 60-70 pages of this thread should make one or two cringe if they read them back. Judging players on the back of pre-season, and a couple of league games is folly. I had my own doubts up until and including Bayern, but since then he's improved week on week, and in the last 2 months we've only lost one game, a game he missed.

Keeping him fit is probably the key to our season, he can't play every game, though watching him it looks like he'd be one of those players who might just be able too (he won't because MP won't want him to burn out), his general fitness level looks very high, he never seems to tire (I didn't see Saturday's game before anyone tells me he looked tired then).

I've just watched him twice in two days, live.

He's not a 32 million player. Probably worth half that. More mobile than Barry but less tenacious. Better in the tackle than Rodwell but lest direct and powerful. Shadow of a player compared to Yaya.

He's ok but not much more.

You'll regret that mate - he'll be the stand out midfielder in the prem this year!!!

Really? That's is such a stupid statement. He's nowhere near either. Busquets is top 3 in his position and Xavi is one of the best players in the World. Ferna isn't even top 10 even 15 in his position. Stop hyping players because you will be disappointed.

So who are the 15 DMs better than Fernandinho?

Alonso, Busquets, Schweiny, DDR, Javi Martinez, Pirlo, Mascherano, Yaya, Marchisio, Vidal, Moutinho, Fellaini, Paulinho, Khedira, Hernanes, Bender, Gundogan. That's more than 15 that IMO are better.

I had a good read last night (I was making sure I hadn't said anything stupid early on, that might come back and bite me).

I'll admit to having my own doubts early one, I knew nothing about him when he arrived, but I was impressed with the write up he was given, and looked forward to seeing him play. I wasn't that impressed by his Newcastle performance, he was OK, but I thought he looked well off the pace of the PL, and was slightly worried about his size in it. I generally don't make judgement on a player until after a few months though, especially when there is a big step up in league level, but the Bayern home game did make me worry quite a bit. However he followed that by a very good performance against Everton, and hasn't looked back.

So from Bayern at home he's gone from a worry when he starts, to a real worry when he doesn't, and quite probably my favourite player in the squad. We have a lot of flair players, who I love to watch obviously, but here we have one with flair and guile in abundance, but better than that, we have a very fit (sporting sense) player, who never seems to tire. I was a fan of Barry, who had usually been great when you hadn't noticed him much, usually I only noticed Barry when he wasn't having a good game.

I am a great fan of what Fernandihno does all over the pitch, and for me he is the one that has allowed us to become the team we are right now, and allows the flair players to play. The glue that can make a team great.

A great signing, and its quite possible he may turn out to be one of our best ever, maybe a bit premature, but not a bad accolade after only 5 months.
