Bugger off. You are in the minority here mate.
I couldn't give a single fuck but I think you will possibly be more shocked, go and spend a few hours in a Yaya thread and see how many people think he is a **** for the way he acted.

I prefer my legends to bleed blue when cut not slag the club off about a fucking cake.

Ha sorry @lionheart I misquoted you, it was the post above yours I was meant to click on lol sorry again

Zabba , Yaya , Vinny , Merlin , Kun , Dinho all heroes who have now been replaced or are about to be , its just the evolution of the club , we are still winning titles/trophies because the recruitment at the club has been first class . In a decade we will be saying a fond farwell to new heroes , just hope there is enough room for all the statues.

Ultimate professional. Would be great to have him mentoring the next generations of blues midfielders.

Been immense again this season back in his proper position, and raised a few "what if" questions about last seasons experiment. Must get a new deal

I'm judging this on footballing contribution and performance alone. Though I don't believe Yaya quite deserves a statue, I think it's undeniable that he's been critical to our rise.

I love Zaba and he's an absolute champion, zero doubt about that, but you don't make statues based on a guy being a good bloke.

No, but you can for a good bloke who also played 333 games for the club over ten years, 333 games that he gave 100% in.
When he arrived here, he was a yellow card machine and didn't look good enough but strangely as the team improved he just kept improving with them until he was the best RB in the world or at least top 3 to save any more argument, he was the best RB in the prem for 5 seasons at least, Yaya was a talented footballer no doubt about it but he tainted his legacy for a lot of fans, imo he was true world-class for 3 seasons with the 20 goal season right in the middle, he was very good either side of that 3 years and the last 2 not so much and the last one was frankly terrible.

But how do you judge a right-backs contribution to Aguero's goals, Silva's assists and silky play?

VK seems to have no trouble, maybe his leadership is the key difference as captain, his important goals at crucial times? No can't be that as Zab scored in the 93:20

Also, I never said Yaya wasn't a critical part of our rise, I said he wasn't a legend in my eyes.

there is a reason why people wanted Zabs back at this club as a coach or whatever, we certainly seem to have got that wish and probably worth mentioning, Zaba is that humble he would probably hate a statue of himself anyway :)

There's surely little doubt that Ferna deserves another season with us, if that's what he wants - still an incredible player who regularly has a big influence on the course of a match.

I hope it happens ... but of course Pep, like all managers, can be ruthless at times.

It wasn't an experiment it was "needs must" for much of the season, but that says more about not replacing Vinny being a mistake.

"Back in his proper position" is the key though, because he reads the game so well, and it's not just his defensive qualities either, he gets us on the attack quicker than Rodri does, and he does get in and around the box. He's the "perfect" midfielder really, and there aren't many (if any currently) who can play this role as effectively.

I have a suspicion that he will be offered a new deal. Why? Well if there wasn't intent on giving him a deal why wasn't it announced at the time of Sergio's departure - which was justified "as allowing him to sort out his next move".

I have no clue what's going to happen with Dinho but an announcement, or lack thereof, means nothing. He could already know. They annonced Sergio's departure right after telling him privately to prevent leaks/quickly put an end to the speculation which was beginning to turn into a bit of a toxic narrative. That sort of media narrative won't surround Dinho. He could be doing a Vinny and wanting to wait for the season to end before announcing it for all we know

There’s a lot of talk building about this kid Lavia in the EDS, who plays DM and looks to be a special talent.

He’s still only 17, so clearly not ready yet, but if we buy another DM this summer the kid will surely leave as there’s no path to the first team for him.

Another year of Ferna could be ideal to give the kid the chance to mature and see whether he’s the real deal before bringing another in.

On the strength of his performances this season, Ferna definitely looks like he’s got another year in him.
This lad looks very special. Not seen a lad as comfortable on the ball in that position at that age.

Could be as simple as Sergio knowing where he's going next and Dinho being undecided.

i think it’s also been mentioned that dinho wants more games? Especially at this point in his career and Rodri is now the number 1 in the DM position.
Ah, well if that is the case, unfortunately, nobody gets games guaranteed here and so it now becomes on him to sign or not sign, I thought I had read that he wanted a two-year deal and we were only offering him a one year deal.

It will be a huge loss, though I like Rodri he isn't Fernie at the end of the day.

rodri was never bought to be Fernandinho 2.0 though? I think it was the way pep knew that he had to evolve the team and Rodri was taller for set pieces and had the passing range that pep wanted? There is no Fernandinho 2.0 around and we have been blessed to have him but Rodri was brought in to start a change over

Rodri may be taller but I reckon Ferny wins more headers ;-)
