I can't think of a better club Ambassador, Scout, qualified coach & leader of men than Fernandinho. He's never given us a problem in his 7 years at the club & has loyally served us as a model professional. He has to be kept on in a major capacity, as I can think of no one better to convince the next Brazilian Superstar that City is the club for them.

Fluent in Russian, probably knows Ukranian as well but Donetsk is in the native Russian speaking part.

I always assumed Yaya was the player that wanted to speak Russian with him when he first moved here.
 
For a player I'd never really heard of other than being Willians mate at Shaktar, and the reason they did ok in the Champions League rather than cannon fodder, I really wasn't expecting too much, but to say he over took the King (and something I would never say lightly) to become my favourite ever City player speaks volumes.

One of my most treasured memories is doing the stadium tour with my Grandson and going into the dressing room and having our picture taken with Fernandinho's shirt hung up behind us, the added bonus being he sits next to Sergio, my second favourite current player, a win win if ever there was one !

I sincerely hope he chooses to continue his career outside of playing with City in some capacity, we just cannot lose, I can't think of a better role model, as a player or as a person than Fernandinho, he has 'God-like' status in my eyes.
 
He's good enough to be in the squad for another year. He's super-fit given his age. He has bags of experience that will rub off on the other players.
 
I think another year as the #2, as well as slowly molding him into the academy set-up would be a very good idea for us.

We don't want to lose a personality as influential as him too quickly.
