Is it?

Haha, love how he was painfully blunt in regards to not watching nor liking women's football.
If he would have said yes, it would have been the most obvious lie ever said. you really need to be a idiot to love womens football or you are watching it for some other reasons than the rest of us.

Says a bit about his personality. Sees football as a career and a way to earn money and he doesn't like women's football, doesn't expand on the second point but with the emphasis we're putting towards a club for everybody at the moment it's an interesting PoV.
Fernandinho saying he doesn't like women's football is just like him saying he doesn't like cricket - women's football is a different sport to the men's version of the game.

There are several footballers in the men's game that don't like the men's game either. Assou-Ekotto at Spurs openly admitted that he hates football and only plays for Spurs because of how much money he earns. I say fair play.

seem to remember steven ireland saying something similar once too about liking/not liking football. they will have media training if thrown to the pack over here.... or at least i hope they would.

yh it is, the only difference being that as we're recently promoting our women's team I don't think any potentially disparaging comments (and I fully understand the context of the Shakhtar piece) would be wanted from our male staff.

On playing for money it's fine as long as they play well, but you'd always love each player to have a passion for it so you know they're always committed, either it being for the team, fans or to try and get in the national team, which is what I think hopefully is driving Fernandinho, as guys like Stevie Ireland play for the money and it showed in those key moments like the derby all those years ago when Scholes sneaked off him to score the late winner.

It's interesting nonetheless.

Gets my respect for being honest...Obviously a character

The rags are not happy we signed him, they are fuming. Its sad that the majority of football fans have seen how good he is except some of ourselves.

He will walk into our starting 11 and improve our team instantly.
Indeed, they are shitting themselves.

We are finally correcting problems we've had for years.

To me he sounds more level headed than his compadre.
His responses were more mature.
Seems like a straight shooter( pun intended) and its what we need in our squad

Forgot about that. Good point.

Let's hope City's scouting team don't use a "Goodness Scale" to determine who comes in.

He's a dynamic player, who dominated a game against Chavski. If we get him, great, but I feel if MP comes, he will have other players in mind. It wouldn't surprise me if we stuck to the Spanish market this summer (Cavani apart hopefully) as their tax rules are changing meaning lower salaries, plus MP obviously knows players there better.
You dont really follow whats going on at our club do you? For the last time future managers at city will have fuck all to say about transfers

Which market do Txiki and Ferran know best? The Spanish market.
Do you really think they won't ask MP who he wants? If not MP will negotiate this whilst bartering his contract.
Maybe in the future, managers will have less say, but MP is in a position of strength at the moment.
In ripost to your jibe about not knowing what is going on at our club, I have as much knowledge as you! ;-)

Navas has already said he was in talks four months ago. Reports now say we have been tracking Fernandinho for a year. This is Tixki not MP. Tixki is just pairing up his targets with a fantastic manager who will obviously take the targets because the targets are top class. I am sure they are talking with Pellegrini but what do you think he is going to say when Tixki says "we are thinking of going after Cavani...you cool with that?"

Is no one concerned at the transfer prices and the ages of these players? Experienced, in their prime but it seems to me like a lot of money will be spent on ageing players.

Ageing players? At 27 and 28! Pass me my pipe and slippers then call the u detainer, I must be ready for going at 42 if 28 is ageing.

I know right. We just signed two players entering their primes. We are linked to Isco and Thiago two players who are about to explode. Seems pretty balanced to me.

To mee it looks like we are getting the players in so we can challenge for multiple titles next season, knowing that when they are reaching the end of their contracts we will have kids really starting to emerge from our Academy. Exactly the right course to take this window.

-- Tue Jun 04, 2013 10:28 pm --

They will listen to MP but in the end it will not be much cared for. Many of these signings. negotiations started half a year ago, i dont think they called MP and asked him about these matters on their christmas card.

Reason why we changed to continental system is to avoid regression when changing managers and to keep the same philosphy inside the club through all lines intact.

Whilst that system is a great, holistic approach we will bring in, MP will still have an important role in our squad for next season.

Holistic refers to the entire City system (down to the 6 year olds)...not everybody getting along. Managers will come and go as long as they by into the system. Their main job is tactics and man-management.

Bloody hell Pudge, do you want to detonate this post now ?? ;) Wasn`t deliberately looking for this, just looking for the YouTube link on his performance against Chelsea.
Lol did I call bullshit on the transfer or someone claiming ITK status about the transfer?

Hoping against hope it was the latter lol

EDIT: Technically I was right, he hadn't signed lol

(GK); Richards, Lescott, Rekik; Rodwell, Milner; Guidetti?

Bench looks average at best - save Rodwell and Milner.

No way Lescott is still here in September.

What has happened? The Telegraph have run a story, and the BBC have put it on their gossip site.

It's looking good, but too soon to celebrate
