This saga is classic Barcelona-style transfer business.

Turn a players head.
Low ball
Sign player for half
Clever in other words ;)

Funny, when Barca did it last season to sign Sanchez ahead of us, I don't think clever was the word of the day.

He's selling himself on twitter again. Telling us why he'd be good for us. Are we trying to get him or is he just trying to catch our eye....

Im starting to really like him! His twitter campaign is quite amusing. Im expecting him to turn up Odemwinge style at Carrington any day now.

Hes dying to sign for us. He isnt gonna sign and not try. This guy clearly wants to go to the World Cup so that can only benefit us.

He's tweet his own website...

Seems a bit mad though, has a player ever done this before?

Having failed to get any trophies season in 2012 -13 and therefore lost Roberto Mancini, there is a big chance that Manchester City will be very active in the summer transfer window.

Especially given the financial support of Sheik Mansour.

The "Citizens" will without a shadow of doubt important targets on your radar this summer, but one of the most interesting players to emerge as a rumored is the midfielder Fernandinho of Shakhtar Donetsk, who became a big name openly stating his desire joining the club.

With the World Cup 2014 fast approaching, it is very easy to understand that the midfielder is talking. Despite having won four trophies Ukrainian league in six years and also the UEFA Cup, as well as appearing in the qualifying rounds of the Champions League on two occasions, Fernandinho simply can not enter the Brazilian midfielder in front of the huge amount of players big name already on the staff.
Which, as it turns out, all play in a major European leagues and so have his performances transmitted more often than Fernandinho.

Thus, from the point of view of the player, want to transfer makes sense. He's 28 years old and will not get younger. With the World Cup coming up, this could be your last chance to enter the Brazilian team and insert plans Luis Scolari.

Moreover, a change would give more access to the Champions League than he had at Shakhtar Donetsk, who made the round of 16 in the 2013 competition.

The big question, then, is whether the transfer Fernandinho makes sense for the City. They have, however, a lot of money and could have who they deem necessary - but is a midfielder of 28 years old that still play for one of the biggest clubs in the world in his career is worth that money?

More worthwhile to go after him than someone like Edinson Cavani?

Having watched City this season, the answer would be yes.
One of the biggest problems for City this season was the lack of goals. They scored more often in 2012 than this season and despite suffering some injuries throughout the year, the biggest reason behind their offensive struggles was the fact that they do not have Yaya Toure chime in the attack.

Toure is more of a midfielder than a regular central midfielder offensive, and as a result, the likes of David Silva were not as effective.

The attack of the City without Toure pulling the strings has not been as dominant as it was last season, mainly because of its position in the field now.

Just take a look at his recent game against West Ham

Despite completing about 100 passes and control the midfield for City, Toure has essentially only played as a midfielder retention. He was unable to actually take forward the attack of Citizens, and that's why former champions could only pass by West Ham

Outside this the last season, with their possession and territorial dominance, you would expect City to finish winning by three or four goals instead of lugging home a 2 -1.

And it is for this reason that Fernandinho makes sense for the Citizens.

Fernandinho would bring Toure - arguably the best and most consistent player in the City - to play its best role. Having Fernandinho behind allow Toure push the game forward and go to the attack, as he does so well, and for once no doubt, would reach the goals that often blurted City this season.

And let's be honest here - Fernandinho is not a weak player.

Especially during the Champions League where the City did a performance so poor this season, the midfielder Fernandinho was just great for the Ukrainian champions.

Take a look at his stats compared with Tourette this season. He has the same qualities in detail that Yaya Toure in midfield retention, and more.
He is best defender Toure, but perhaps most importantly, he would progress with its 30 years of age. May rely on another player in midfield, both Toure and Fernandinho would be able to control the speed of the game and gain possession of the game conveniently.

Opponents would have to be much more direct against the City, which, given its ability to create turnovers, give them a huge advantage going forward.

Perhaps the best comparison in terms of English football would be Ramires and Juan Mata in Chelsea, at its best, can be brilliant.

That would be the kind of impact that could have Fernandinho and Toure at the Etihad Stadium next season, both individually and in terms of team success.

If Manchester City is able to lower the cost of your transfer between £ 20-25 million, then they should pull the trigger in the summer transfer window.

The potential for success is simply too great to do otherwise

Was funny at first...getting a bit weird now...will expect to find him stalking in the bushes outside Eastlands soon...

Haha my thoughts too.. I'm imagining the first game of the season and him running out onto the pitch with everyone looking confused,

"Fernan, you didn't actually sign for us, you still play for Shahktar"
