Having looked at squads etc, I reckon we can sign 4 players without any having to leave. If we sign five one has to go if we sign 6 then 2 have to leave. The one to leave that will be Dzeko in part ex for Cavani.

So we can sign

Cavani - Dzeko out
Isco
Navas (done)
Fernandhino
Noveretti/Pepe

without losing another player

if we sign

Alicantara someone has to leave beside Dzeko. Names are illustration only.

may I suggest you look at the squads again, currently we have no vacancies except for 3 club trained players over 21 in the CL, one place is vacated when Kolo leaves (he essentially replaced Balotelli.)

There are only 3 options for Thiago imo...
1. A LM alternative to Isco (if he is too expensive or chooses elsewhere).
2. An AM replacement for Silva or Nasri. Pellegrini has mentioned Silva so he's staying. Nasri was on fire in the US so I suspect he'll be given more time (he is potentially our best player if managed right)
3. A CM replacement for Barry to play second fiddle to Fernandinho and Yaya so unlikely to be attractive to a player looking for a lot of games. (Bare in mind too that Rodwell could have he season of his life next time out)

So I think Thiago is not on and our signings will be Cavani, Fernandinho, Isco, Navas, Pepe and possibly a LB (I hope it's Abidal). That would be un-effen-believable. And to bring it back on track I think Fernandinho will be the most important of all the signings. :-)

Yeh that could be about right.

Would be quality and make up for the Garcia/Sinclair/Wright/Maicon transfer offerings last year.
