Fernandinho

Yaya's silent partner, he just ghosts around in midfield , giving the opposition a real fright, his link up with Yaya for Aguero's 2nd was wonderful, from defence to attack in a heartbeat.
I watchen the Milan game on BT Sunday , that NDJ is the main playmaker in midfield says it all, and Mario hadn't scored fora month, missing his 2 nd pen in a row!

there's no way of saying this without sounding antagonistic, but if you don't 'get' what fernandinho brings, you don't understand the game of football. in a game where the attacking players starred, he was the most important player in blue. snuffed out everything tottenham tried in attack.

Rephrasing you, he was the hidden soldier that the other team feared.. In spurs game, he almost gave us the impression that we didn't really need the whole defense line!!! When you have such a player, your strikers only need to score.

I never doubted him, once again some people are far to quick to rush to judgement footballers are human beings not machines that you can just unpack and watch them go, time and time again some people judge new players without giving them time, there were a fair few slagging Silva off for his first few games

Tweet from Negredo in which he calls him the "engine". I've not heard him called that before but it seems apt.

Happy with the victory,3 points that we worked very hard for, here a picture with the"engine"

Ha, is that Paddy V chilling like a boss behind?

Pmsl, so it is, hahaha look how he is sat, like a boss.

Fernandihno has done exactly as i hoped, the ducks feet.
Not rough and crude though, he is a fine set of ducks feet :D
He enables us to glide gracefully due to his hard work and sharp footy mind.

More to come from him.

We have seen little bits of his attacking play but he's still partially in his shell & a bit nervous/indecisive in the final 3rd imo (as his comedy goal attempt showed).

Great player who will get better.

How do you think he would have faired playing next to Barry and pushing yaya further up the pitch? Might have solved our wobbles on the road

Very good article on dinho v spurs in the bleacher report.

Well worth 5 minutes of your time.

Did you notice that Yaya and several others worked hard to try to get him scoring chances when we were up by 5? I figured they wanted to give him a highlight to show the national team. Says a lot though, doesn't it?

-- Tue Nov 26, 2013 9:41 am --

Mirrors our best away performance so far this year when we partnered him with Garcia against Chelsea and pushed Yaya a bit forward. Granted, we lost but that was little to do with the three in midfield.

Good shout. I don't know what the outcome of that would have been but the same thought crossed my mind only yesterday.

Where's Mike D gone?

Out of all the players we brought I thought he would have been a dud, but happy to admit I was wrong. Has a lot more to his game than the lump up front and he's ruthless in front of goal. There was some comparison when spuds bought Paulinho and Selgado and we got Fernandinho and Negrado. I don't think anyone could argue that its Negrado has come out on top of the strikers but unfortunately we got well and truly bummed when we spunked £30mil on Flopinho

And who can forget blightee, who only ever posted on Bluemoon to trash Fernandinho?

should have bought tom huddlestone Lol

The sad thing is, next time we sign a player and he isn't five stars after two weeks, it'll be exactly the same.

(And Fernandinho wasn't even bad for us from the very start, he had a couple of dodgy games along with many others. I think WhoScored's ratings of him are pretty accurate: http://www.whoscored.com/Players/19119/ ... ernandinho - they have him as the 10th best player in the league so far this season, BTW)
